We are entering the final hours of The Beige Wars

My ship is parked over one such ultra-boring beige planet. I can't wait to see it totally transformed the next time I log in!

I can not wait for the battle of Q4

FOUR John De Lancy's ?!? :)

Remember this thread? https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/304905-Planets-in-2-2-50-shades-of-beige

It's been almost two years since comments were first made about this degradation; it seemed to take forever for Michael Brookes to say "we will take a look" and then eventually, to come back with a response as to why it had happened.

Interesting re-reading some of that thread ... the usual characters "defending" FD on the issue, and even some doubting it was an issue at all. ... nothing changes in that respect, but at least we now have a satisfactory result within our grasp [heart]

Rats! Out of rep.

I visited a bunch of planets in the beta which I had taken pictures of in 2.2-2.4 for my Search for Color thread. The difference is nothing short of spectacular. Physical terrain is unchanged for 3.0 but the new colors in the beta brought out so much detail in the terrain which was almost unnoticeable in live due to the homogenous nature of the coloring. It’s a big difference overall.

I already see armies of Plainleks swarming over the forums shouting "DESATURATE! DESATURATE!".

I have the perfect image to go with that:
