New textures and ship selfies have more content then actual in-game missions, thats because people complain about paintjobs. [noob]
landing gear is a bit different because it's much more likely to appear in ship selfies.
After all, I mean... the whole point of skins and paint jobs is ship selfies. Surface selfies are pretty common, so not coloring the landing gear is pretty egregious when it's the whole point of the thing you're paying for
True. I have seen cans of tartan paint (choose your clan colours) and rainbow paint (with curved paint brushes to help application).
Next time I find a Black Friday Orca around, I'll shoot a railgun slug at its landing gear and let you know how it pans out.

It's only as serious as you take it.
It really does look.. off. Is it game-breaking? Nah, not at all. But it is a bit of an eye-sore. But hey, I get it... labor costs being what they are.. limited pixel resources, reducing the carbon footprint.. gotta cut corners (or feet) where you can.

Interior Paints will be a thing when we can walk around our ships. That's how they'll pay for the programming time.

We've been asking for interior customisation (not just colour, but proper interior design) for ages.
To be honest, I would be fine with FD never releasing another ship again, if they spent their desingers' time on couple of cockpits for each existing ship. I'd pay twenty quid for one.

That said:
Every time I see a thread like this here or in other gaming forums I visit I often think to myself, "Self - anyone who thinks grown men don't play dress up with their dolls just plain isn't paying attention". The only difference between a man sweating how his ship, holo-me, tank, plane or car in a game looks and a 6 year old girl playing dress up with her dolls is that the girl is honest about it.
And before anyone breaks out their flame thrower and points at me with their finger on the trigger - I'm just as picky about the way I dress my cars and ships as the rest of ya.
