[video] trying out Voice Attack, Excellent & fun!

Holy *¨%£@# are you crazy?! I won't go into any fight, not even take off with a ship I do not understand at all :D :D :D i'd see me yelling all the time WHAT? WHAT? WHAAAT????

:D:D:D

no thnks :)

It's obvious I did that knowing what it means. I just wanted a "Made-In-Japan" feel for my ship! ;)

I wasn't expecting a reaction like this... :D

But that was just an example. I pretty much convert my other stuff to Zigapro for VA purposes though.

I didn't have a "megazord" script but I have a take off script though.
Supposed to be a "Gundam" anime reference. HAHA!
I can reference it if you want... :p

Sorry for being an anime geek!

I've been trying out voice attack and I absolutely love it.

My "jettison all cargo" command was "23 Skiddo", but I went ahead and disabled it since I'm just hauling legitimate cargo in my type 6. I'll probably re-enable it when I swap to another ship and start dealing with illegal goods.

"wheels up" and "wheels down" were simple to setup and have been a major quality of life improvement for the frequent landings that I make hauling cargo.

It took some trial and error the timings right for a "request docking privileges" script, but it was definitely worth it. :D

The final voice attack command that I'm presently using is "initiate long-jump." I use that when I'm about to begin a multi-jump journey in my type 6. The type 6 tends to overheat a lot on long trips, so "initiate long jump" synchronizes the hyperdrive and the deployment of a heatsink so that I enter hyperspace as close to 0 heat as I can possibly get.

Eventually I'll probably use voice attack to rapidly swap between my preferred power distribution settings.

Cool :) You could also on any Jump, re-put all pips to engines, in case of an interdiction, your ready...

Bout jettison cargo, what I did, is 2 voice commands

Me: Eject Cargo
VA: Pleas confirm with: Yes, eject cargo!
Me: Yes, Eject Cargo
VA: Cargo jettisoned, commander.

;-)

Thanks for saying that. It makes me feel slightly more confident in doing videos on my experience with Elite Dangerous.

But the confirmation for the eject cargo sounds logical.
Never thought of that. I disable it as previously, I was using command weight of 100 and it just acknowledges the command too oftenly, that I was even fine once for it...

finally got the command weight to 50 after training the voice recognition more.

Should give it a try again.

Also... do not have a voice attack command for "eject cargo"...... last thing you want to do is arrive into a system where you say something simple, ....and then the computer to respond with.. 'CONFIRMED SIR EJECTING CARGO!"

You can do some pretty stuff with the support of conditional blocks (you'll need the beta version for that)
For example, say you want to have a "fail safe" for some actions... you can setup a single 'critical' voice action that simply set a flag to 1, then in all the other critical commands use:

Start block: If flag = 1
- <do the stuff>
- set flag = 0
End Block

What happens here is that if you say "eject cargo", nothing happens, while saying "critical"<short pause>"eject cargo" will execute the intended command... so every command that use the above block will always have to be immediately preceeded by "critical", minimizing the chance of a false recognition

Using your example,

I believe this works well. Just make sure that the critical command allows other commands to run over it. This ensures the fact that the critical command is only effective for a moment of time.

EDITED: with messages and some safety precautions.
End condition here ends the command once condition is met, but continue if not met.

Any ideas how I might be able to control the gear with different lowering and raising samples?
I would have to assume that I will always be undocking when I log in so when I say a command it'll play a sample saying they've been raised and then set a flag to 1 but I can't seem to work out how to use IF statements so that it would play another sample on 1 and then reset back to 0.

Hope I've made some sense lol

I did that a very dumb way: 2 keys assigned to landing gears. One triggerede by the 'deploy landing gear' vocal commad, and another key maped witht he raise/retract gear one.... works fine, both commands, activate the gear anyway.

lol brilliant! I was thinking too much into it.
I'll use that :)

just understood the programming now..... so one key could be kept for landing gear, with conditions, set with a flag! Thnx!!!

my only recommendation for voice attack is that it should support 32bit sapi 4 and/or sapi 5 voices in windows 7/8. Currently, it relies on 64bit microsoft or other 64bit voices, such as those from ivona and other select places. Many of the voices I have are 32bit. If I open up the 32bit control panel through Syswow64 sapi.cpl, I can select the 32bit voice and they play, but voiceattack does not see them, as it only sees the 64bit voices.

Even if you copy the 32bit voices from the registry and copy into the 64bit locations they list but do not play.

the only remedy that I know of is to have a 32bit version of voiceattack dedicated for 32bit voices. I'm ok with having two versions on my computer as long as the two do not conflict.

I do have some good voices I can't currently use.

Forgot to mention that I use Windows 8.1 64bit but Windows 7 64bit is to be the same way.

That tutorial in the SC forum was really helpful. No more Anna!

Glad you like it!
Japanese Voice all the way! For Me!

I might convert my profile into a English one and choose any of the profile everytime and I play :p.

FYI, ZiraPro is the way to go for good pronunciation text-to-speech.

Do away with the TTS voices altogether! Check out what we're doing with pre-recorded audio!

Yep, I've already been messing with this. Went and bought your(?) voice pack because why not.

Fyi: 'Power to engines' voice response group is missing. ;)

I bound some Japanese TTS responses to my profile just for kicks.
