that crime system..

Oh boo hoo, criminal actions have consequences, however small, & people start moaning. Yeah, sorry if I sound unsympathetic. If anything, I want the bounty system to be even *tougher*. At the moment you can clean non-murder bounties off instantly.....at cost (no mark up, at all)....& bounties are so relatively tiny, even for multiple murder.

There are plenty of work-arounds. Anonymous Protocols will let you pay off fines & complete outstanding missions. If you can't get at your other ships, just jump to a new jurisdiction & summon them to you until you can get the bounty cleaned (which, as I've said, is dead easy).

I’m not seeing it, is there a way I can search for interstellar factors? I’ve been to two different big stations and haven’t seen one.

Go to the Galaxy Map & look for Interstellar Factors under the Services Filter.

Assuming you're right then that's a clear bug. I did not murder *any* ship. Got that bounty just for destroying 2 ground defence turrets (that where not marked as wanted btw). Even more so, I got the first bounty on the first shot already, when the turret was still functioning. This can't seriously be meant this way.

You always get bounties for shooting turrets. Not fines. Regardless of if you kill them. Same as in 2.4

It is an assault bounty, and you can pay it off at the IF because it doesn't increase your notoriety.

Had you shot a clean ship and not killed it, it would have been an assault bounty under the same conditions.

Had you killed a clean ship, it would have been a murder bounty, and you would not be able to pay it off until your notoriety reduces to zero.

Don't you people read?

I can't, look at my screen shot. Maybe it's a bug and you need to do a full planetary scan mission, including the surpass zone warning. Though I got the bounty earlier, already before I scan scanned the beacon.

Did you click on it, and did it refuse to clear? If so, that's a bug.

Again. That's where I am right now but can't pay my bounty as it says I need to clear my notority first. All I did was assaulting 2 ground based turrets. No ship murdered.

Did you try clicking on it?

On the bounty?

Ok, it's an assault bounty then. But as you say, clicking on that button does nothing. Watch at my screenshot again. Definitely a bug then. Why I got it but you not for the same thing is a mystery for now...

Report it as a bug.

Sorry for getting frustrated.

Are you in the same jurisdiction as the bounty? Maybe that's why.

Also, maybe try logging out and back in?

Wait.... I thought they did away with small superpower bounties? I'd definitely bug report it and see what comes of it.

Look in statistics crime, there is your notoriety value, if it is over 0, you can not pay in IF, and it means you killed something.. the value will decay at a 1 point per 2 hours ingame rate.

am i the only one that has issues with it?

got 600cr bounty, then got locked out of all of my ships at home, no indication of how long or whatever.. is this working as intended?

Essentially, yes. This is what FDev felt people wanted. We tried to warn folks.

You will need to find a low security system (most likely mining/extraction economy) that almost certainly will only have planetary bases and outposts in it. Any system with a large orbital is most likely medium or high security.

thats just silly for such an amount, if it was for a kill i could understand.
my reaction to not being able to pay it there was ESC + quit to desktop. and i dont quit easyly...

I do quit easily when it comes to stinking computer games.

If they act stupid and aren't fun, I quit without a second thought...

Assault or tresspassing, I assume.

Fines are still fines. They can be paid off at the issuing faction's stations.

Tresspassing can happen very easily and without intent...
Just have to get stuck in the mail slot with one of the behemoth ships for a few seconds too long...

You have to wonder if the game intentionally tries to be as asinine as the real world, with maritime law being placed on land by hook and crook...
I still think FD wants to drive any players focused on actually having fun out of the game. They are just not a good fit. :p

"we don't talk about fun here, its just not cool."

People were still having fun in the 70's, but since then, major, world wide efforts have been under way to beat it out of them...

Following this line, we added a major focus on crime and punishment with detention centers, prison ships and ridiculous rules. To make you
...miserable.
What else did you expect? Keep the Prozac handy!

A game with detention centers! Just what everyone was clamoring for! Or was it?

That is so f'ed up, its beyond words... I hope the Thargoids win and wipe out all humans, cause they are too stupid to live.

If this triggers you, wait until you see what happens when you clip an eagle whilst traveling at speed into/ out of a station. I'm assuming you're just saying you quit. People say they are quitting all the time (but still keep playing).

If I can't hit anything on the way in or out I might as well just sell my Cutter when I log in :D

I said it as soon as they announced the new C&P, those changes will hurt most the people they are intended to protect, and look, first day of the patch and the crying already began.

The gankers will find the loopholes in the new system and wont be affected since they do this as a full time job, they are good at it.

The PVE players, however, will eat what they cooked for themselves and threads like these will be the new "I have been griefed in OPEN".

I'll contact support as that's a show stopper.

Nope. Bug.

I don't mind it. I would have done a few things differently, but it's better then the completely non-existent, nonsensical system that we had before.

You may be right, but in the end, the ball is in FDev's court for dreaming up such a naive "solution", detrimental to most people trying to enjoy the game.

Stations were already more than asinine enough.
Cold, uncaring corporate police states everywhere you look in that game.

This is where we voluntarily go in our spare time?

The game mechanics to protect yourself from gankers existed since beta. Outfit a modded shield and few boosters and you will be unkillable.
Instead, the constant whailing by shieldless paperboat pilots made Fdev to create a convoluted C&P system that killed organic PvP, white knighting, blockades and so on.

The new system helped to create a ship that is is solely dedicated for quick ganks. A "hot" ship which is unable to dock, unable to be min maxed for pvp and unable to die because rebuys are insane. What is left for it to do? You guessed it: to gank weak ships and run before white knights or ATR arrive.

I don't believe anyone felt people wanted this.

More like designed to promote acceptance of police states among the population.

Why? You can still commit crime in this game, easy as pie. You want to gank, go out and gank. Pirate? Go pirate. Blow up surface stations, by all means. Tag cops in the RES, go for it.

All you have to do is visit the IF and pay off the bounty and you're good to go.

Get a fine, just pay it off in the issuing jurisdiction.

I don't see what the complaint is.

Nah, the only people whining & crying are the easily triggered.
