Modes Will 3.0 Increase, decrease or have no effect on Open population?

I play lots of MMO's as a matter of fact I am also responsible for changes in the grand daddy of them all.

You know why? Because I bring math, Video proof, Screenshots and more. I dont just whine that I want the game changed. I show the need for it.

And im sorry but when it comes to player factions vs player factions it is that game. They purposefully put in things for players to duke it out. They purposefully balance the game around PVP activities.

And you need to get it.

Because that is what they are doing.

As long as you can take advantage of the system. While I am forced to spend X amount of time grinding the same cops or bounties, or hauling meta allow or powerplay media to keep up.

You have to go into solo and private to keep up. And prey you have more time than them. No skill what so ever. Especially against other players.

Nope, over 33,000 people used that credit farm, and have been everytime it comes up. No matter where its at.

They created a mode for PVP. They created powerplay with "Direct" PVP in mind.

Yeah I am angry. Because the modes have caused more problems than what its worth. Ive been personally attacked and threated to be swatted or doxxed because I tried to defend a system. I tried opposing a CG killing Imps.

Ive got nothing but real life threats because of it. BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY WANT US TO PLAY THE GAME.

There is no definition here for PVP. And the modes has screwed all that up.

Correct me if I'm wrong as its been a while, but doesn't TOR use PvP to fight over objectives for Guild Conquest?

The Modes got this game made, and payed for. If they only wanted us to to PvP over things, why on earth did they include the Modes from the very get go. Because the people interested in the game, and the Dev's wanted them. They want us to choose how we want to play. That is perfectly obvious. They want those that enjoy the PvP to have it, but in turn the assure that those that don;t can accomplish that too. The very Modes you seek to abolish, prove you wrong at every turn.

Others feel its one of the best parts of the game, being able to choose who you play with. And its part of what made the kickstarter successful.
PvP can be fun but not all the time and for some it never is fun.
You are stuck on the PP issue of people affecting you from behind modes, you can affect them in open because they are not around to hinder you. Its not the modes fault that PP is based around doing PvE objectives. Rather than crusade for the removal of valid game modes why not crusade for a change or addition to PP?

Just a few days ago I put one in the PP sub forum.
My stance isn't to keep the game exactly the same (all MMOs change over time), my stance is to not to waste time removing a feature to fix a problem caused elsewhere.

The only part of Elite that is for competitive PvP is Arena/CQC.

Yep I do agree. Its a consensual PVP program that does not work as intended though. Due to the modes. So everyone just uses it for Module Hopping.

There are some Powerplayers out there though. They do it, they think its fun. But almost everytime by the end of a fight. Modes are brought up because someone eventually sends PVP ships out to kill Haulers while the other team hauls in solo and private. So each team just ends up using the modes to keep up.

Therefore, the program has failed. We are all aware of it. Lets not pretend it didnt happen.

Now we got Player factions vs Player factions in the BGS. Different set of rules. But in the end its still Player Vs Player.

And its up to Fdev to make Player Vs Player activities work over objectives correctly. And right they arent working correctly.

The problem with that is, once you log into Open you're already agreeing to PvP attacks from other players. Signing up for a Power would make no difference.

Consensual means consensual. If you opt out of PP but play in open, you're still available for PvP. If you sign up for PP, but don't play in open, then you haven't consented to PvP. The part about PP and PvP is about taking away the criminality of PP-PvP, not to make PP a PvP only activity.
