what was the point of the beta test??? I thought all issues like this were supposed to be tested and fixed.

going forward the betas need to be extended..

as for the mission fix.. just make sure metals/minerals are not a choice for mining mission rewards... simple really..

So FDev didn't even LOOK at the code t omake sure you were correct and just took your word for it and THEN took mining away from everyone?

Did we all fall for some weird joke at some point?

It is pretty funny to watch this play out. I lost all respect for FD, and i've shelved the game yet again due to their stupidity and incompetence, but funny nonetheless to see a software developer to manage to stay afloat amid such mishandling.

The glitch/exploit was very real, but how game breaking it was was exaggerated for comedic effect (and to parody other youtubers getting cheap views off of other people's exploits

). Based on the title it sounds like it makes smeaton look like running data missions, but in actual fact it is a little below smeaton and skimmers in terms of credits per hour.

Compared to other legit forms of in game income, this wasn't THAT much better, which is why I thought the reaction to this thread from frontier would be a chuckle and maybe a bit of embarrassment and to add a fix in the next, not to disable all mining missions everywhere.

It just puts more weight on the evidence that ED wasn't coded well and the devs don't have a grip on the code either. They forgot basic maths - how simple is it to make a mission NOT pay out like this? And how on earth DID it happen? So either there's huge incompetence going on here OR they coded the BGS so badly and made it so intertwined they've let it run away from themselves and don't really know what it's doing anymore. They make a change here - it fails over there.

I did lots of osmium, bromelite mining missions since 3.0 but I never seen osmium nor bromelite as reward for those missions. I did get often parsedormium and platinum rewards but then I didnt get any parsedormium missions. So I think you had to be in right system to spawn mining missions with osmium, bromelite rewards.

It was way better than VolleyBoom! You didn't need to leave the station!! (apparently I heard from a friend)

From my experience it was no exploitable. Only if you are at work and stack mission from time to time to make free credits... Otherwise you loose time instead !!

I hope they rework all their mission system in Beyond update because it's crap.

We already knew they aren’t playing their own game, now we can say they aren’t the ones developing it since they have no clues about anything. FD, just ask directly your indians to answer on forum and bug report, at least they would know.

Ed if i can ask, what happened to the bulk passenger mission?

I don't see any patchnotes telling about it and i can't see any improvement/fix ingame yet.

We are "blind" in those issues and fixes.

Same here. The forums have been a heady mix of unmitigated optimism slowly clouded by the brown fetid sludge of 'what the actual **** is happening right now?'

In game, I've just repented for Volyboom by driving round a planet shooting rocks for a friend who desperately needs mats for engineering to pick up. On my latop, at lowest settings at 10-15fps.
