Griefer Warning - Guardian ruins sites

Was in the guardian systems (ruins) for 1 week in open.
Saw many people ( also strange ones ^^' ) but no one attacked eachother even unarmed parked ships.

That's how it goes though... 40% of Open will run from you on sight. 30% will ignore you, 20% will take their chances, 9.x% will act like normal human beings. But it's that .x % that gives the whole a bad rap. One Bad Apple Syndrome.

It take immense skill to destroy a stationary unmanned ship, y'know.

What I don't understand, is the "PvP" crowd are really loud on the forums, and not all of them are griefers, yet when anyone shows up being naughty, none of these PvP fanatics show up to deal with it. Lol

C'mon guys. You have things to shoot, where are you?,

Oh right, you don't fit useful FSDs to your ships, and there are no stations to transfer too. :p

Bummer.
Why would they?
The last thing a PvPer wants is an opponent who they know will c-log at the first sign of opposition.

does it need to?

Depends how you view Mobius.

I regard it as ED's gentleman's club with a strict members only policy, every now and again someone gets in with trainers on, starts spilling people's drinks and harassing the staff. Then the bouncers fling them out onto the kerb and everyone watches in comfort laughing as they strut up and down the street outside with their shirts off yelling abuse but not actually daring to get close.

Does that work btw?

If you're in an SRV, and over in the distance you see flashes of blue as your pride and joy is being shot up whilst unmanned, and you log off in some swift fashion, does your ship vanish with you?

Technically you're not combat logging because you're not in combat.... right? (or am I missing something)

Did somebody say "Kerb"? Yep, sure did. Not "Curb", like the side of the road, but "Kerb", like these guys.

The "combat" is a bit of a misnomer. Here's the material conditional of clogging:
IF you log to avoid a rebuy due to the actions of another CMDR
THEN you are combat logging

Not only luck, because got many griefers on my block list. :p

Ahhh yes! That does help, but most new players don't yet have that additional protection. No doubt your own list was assembled after far less enjoyable open encounters than the one you mentioned here. ;)

"Dismiss Ship!"

And then recall it, to find that it lands miles away from the Guardian site thanks to the horrible terrain Frontier chose to plop all these locations into. [down] [wacko]

I’ve often thought about sitting in the starport in Eravate and giving all the newbies detailed instructions on how to use the block feature, so all new players will be able to use it effectively from day 1.

When have we ever cared about that?
When you lot cry that players aren’t perma-banned for menu logging.

The usual were busy grinding engineers in the first week. Only a fool would attack an unmanned Asp with a Cutter without having those extra 3% DPS, ya know.

I am the OP.
It's not the destruction of my ship that bothered me, I can buy another one.
What bugged me is that on the destruction of my ship, I am transported 700 odd LYs back to Meene (where I accepted Ram Tah's mission) and I have to fly back plus, the loss of my exploration data.
Over the last couple of days I have met some great Commanders out in the Guardian Ruins, I don't want to play in Solo (I am already a member of Mobius).
I can't dismiss my ship because it stores all the artifacts I need to scan the obelisks.

As an earlier contributor said "one bad apple". Well that bad apple is going on my block list.

Good man, in case anyone tries to tell you fibs about how and why blocking works here's the low down complete with input from the devs :

The original guardian ruins closer to the bubble was frequently guarded. I remember once I was in an srv and some loser in a conda dropped in and started shooting at a ship on the ground. He was instantly focused by 4 anti griefer ships and destroyed. It was funny.

This being said, just dismiss your ship and you will not have to worry about this. Leaving your ship sitting on the ground is about the equivalent of leaving your car windows down in a bad neighborhood.
