Frontier Stream Tonight??!?!?!?!

That'll be why I know nothing about it then.

Exactly. I don't use twitter, nor any other social media and questionable channels.
I really don't understand what did we ever do, here, do deserve this.

Maybe Official Frontier Forums aren't official communication channel between players and devs, any more?

(I am sorry, but I actually feel REALLY salty about this, right now)

So it's just like the game itself - if you want any information at all, you have to go to 3rd-parties to find it :p

Well, nobody really answered the question here or in the stream chat, so I'm off for a movie.
Not that one smug boycotter could change anything, but hey, they don't want us there, I am not going to beg...

It's an increasingly annoying and sad trend in many online games in the last few years - do everything on twitter and facebook and ignore your own forums, if it's not on the forums then I know what they think of me as a customer.

Yeah, I mean, why wouldn't they just post a message on the forum?

I think Page's message really says it all: "If you are not following us on Twitter, smash that follow button now!"
That's really all there is to it. It's all about the follows buttons, bell buttons and likes.

The only thing I have to say to that is: ...why?
I smashed that sign up button on the forum front page years ago and try to be a useful member of the community every since. So... screw me, then, I suppose.

I think a large majority of the player base doesn't frequent the forums. For some players it's easier to just subscribe to a Twitter feed or Facebook, something they already do for other things they follow rather than join a forum for a single game. Not for me as I don't tweet or FB.

Still, FD should use all avenues to promote.

I'm sorry, but FD has HOW many people assigned to community management now, and how many mods (realize the mods might not get the info ahead of time either... Bad on FD), and they can't find time to copy/paste a notice on their forums that they're having a stream and who the guests will be?? I'll admit, I just don't get into twitter, et al, but I do check these forums out to see what's up. I don't mind missing a stream on CQC'ing that night, but if Sandro, Dav, Adam, etc are going to be online giving out good information, I always try to make time to watch those streams. Once again, you're counting on the community members to get the word out, mostly at a much later time of day than when Ed posted first thing in the day (my time) and I have time to adjust my schedule to see it.

I guess I can just watch it after the fact, and if it's not something I'm into, turn it off. But it just seems like we're getting ignored on the forums because the Community Managers can't be bothered to put something here. By the way, don't you have an idea of whether you're going to have a stream any given week and who the guests will be before the day of the stream. Surely you can post something a couple days ahead of time. Or give the info to the mods and I'm sure they'd post it for us.

This just feels like a community management failure for no good reason.

If I understand it correctly (which I think I do) the decision to not mention this stream on Forums was deliberate.
Which fact I take highly personally.

It's a little weird not to announce it in advance on the forums. I subscribe to Elite on YouTube and I received a notice of the stream 6 minutes before it started. Having the forum be the one place they don't announce it seems odd, sure I only knew 6 minutes before showtime but and I can't watch it until I get home, but it's not a secret.

Not announcing it on their official forums is downright bonkers. I too, dont use Reddit, Twitter etc. I come here, you know, to read the forum and official announcements etc..... oh wait they don't always post here.......

Let them announce it where they like - shout it out the window - graffiti it in public toilets in Kings Cross station if they want - just.... when you have forums for your game - those should ALWAYS be used first - anything else is just fluff. Or don't have forums at all - some games have tried that,...... went well for Warhammer online didn't it ?
