Dav's Hope - Still down at 10:50 GMT today 16th March

I've just headed back to Dav's Hope. This is all in Solo Mode.
Upon approach I can't drop out of orbital cruise into glide - I'm just frozen 74.4km away... Eventually the game crashed me out back to the menu.
Connection Error
Could not connect to server. Press OK to return to the main menu.
Upon restarting I'm 53Ls away from the planet...
So, second approach... entered OG at 78.8Km away... Same game lockup and I crashed out to main menu. Upon restarting I find myself ... 53Ls away...
So, third approach... entered OG at 69.4Km away... Same game lockup and I crashed out to main menu. Upon restarting I find myself ... 53Ls away...
So, forth approach... entered OG at 99.8Km away... Same game lockup and I crashed out to main menu. Upon restarting I find myself ... 53Ls away...
... ad nauseum ...
I presume FDev have effectively quarantined this planet until they can nerf the materials drop down to 1:1 instead of 3:1 ...
By the time you can go there... (presumably after the 3.0.3 patch now) it won't be worth the effort after FDev have nerfed the material drops
Have you tried dropping out of super cruise manually before entering glide and flying down to it in normal space?
I went there to see what it was like. Interesting story when you scan the beacons, but nothing special about the materials. Haven't been back again, and have had no problems finding the materials I need elsewhere.
Sorry guys, it's my fault. FD are following me around nerfing every single activity that I do. I'm just flying around aimlessly at the moment too scared to do anything because I know it will be nerfed the next day, and I don't want to spoil the game for the rest of you. Maybe tomorrow I'll just do some regular trading. You make so little money at it that nerfing won't make any difference. Any other suggestions?

Welp I was at davs hope last night when people started having issues, on the site farming mats. Went to bed but left client open to mode selection screen and now this morn (10:40 est Montreal time) getting the "cannot retrieve CMDR info" error.
After restarting the client I have loaded right back in right at Davs Hope settlement!

i read somewhere that people fixed this by loading the non horizons version of the game and going to a station.
Sounds like more bug than designed case. More like related to lot of players flocking to this place.
Ok. I had no problem dropping in. I can't relog, though. It just sits on the SRV spinning. I tried logging into non horizons ED, and it put me back in orbit. I still can't log in through horizons, though.
Yeah restarting the client again fixed the logging in problem and I am still at davs hope farming!

I went to Davs a little bit ago to check if material ratio when picked up had changed (there's another thread re: this). I landed, did a loop, found that materials still give you 3 units (at Dav's at least) and logged off. When I tried to log on a little bit later to leave & go elsewhere, I am unable to log in and as the previous poster mentioned, the login screen just spins until the connection error screen appears. As of 11 AM EST time and trying to login for 20+ minutes I've given up. I hope Fdev fixes this soon. I'm on Ps4.

I've been to Dav's once - during the beta.
It sucked.
I can collect far more materials in USS's faster than I can at Dav's - as a matter of fact, I did, all the way out there.
Now as a site to see, it was pretty cool. I do plan to revisit to read the logs that were buggy in the beta, but for materials? No thanks.

Legitimately? Like board flipping and relogging to try and bypass the designed gameplay?
Not a convincing design if it didn't predict and prevent down those loopholes, is it ?

For me, at least, the "Connection Error" timeouts were a problem for about four hours, then went away entirely and I was able to merrily farm away for hours thereafter.
Because of its squirrelly nature, I may encounter the issue again when I return to Dav's Hope later.
So naturally I must do just that to find out. [wacko]
