New crime and punishment system sucks.

You killed pvp dead, I play on ps4 only killed 8 players and have 38 million bounty on my head, waiting in anarcy systems for pvp is stupid No one wants to fight so I go make them but I have to pay for it if i die and with what credits you nerf credits all the time, fun is dying in this game. Yeah it's good a player can kill Me and make bank but what about me with all the salt and combat logging I have to put up with where's my payout?.

Uh build different pvp ships? Oh you're broke. Nevermind.

No there is a big difference of going from one extreme to another and that's exactly what has happened here. Considering Planetary scan missions don't tell you that you will get a bounty when scanning, even if you are scanning outside of the trespassing zone. That is failure on their part right there. If that had gone to a real court, it would be thrown out...

No it wouldn't as you are illegally accessing someone else's terminal without their consent or permission.

Ignorance of the law is not a defense....

Don't do the crime then... you guys asked for C&P now you have it you still complain because all this time you where committing crimes too!

You kidding? I love being able to pay my bounty for minor offenses. I love not worrying about some defence force kwsing a dormant bounty up while docking.

Whether you get a bounty or not depends on if the beacon is public or private, not whether you trespass or nor.

On that note...

And besides. Go out and steal the colonels secret herbs and spices. I'm sure the courts will throw that one out....

Not when the owner of the land (system in this case) gives you the mission to spy on someone on their own property. Then it's not ignorance of the law, it's their property to begin with. Just like a landlord is able to come into your place if they deem something is wrong, in this case they pay someone else to investigate. Another system maybe, but when it's in the same system, and the mission is by the controlling faction, then there's a problem...

Have you tried GTA online? You get to throw C4 at people from sports cars and kill people with rocket launchers and miniguns. It's fun and sounds right up your street :)

Go do this. GTA
The Galaxy doesn't want you murderers.
Trolls. Haha. They made rules the trolls don't like. They all sound SO SALTY

You're really reaching man. Repeat after me...

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Awe the greifers are sad that they have to pay for player killing crimes.

Well if it's never been a crime before, and there never has been any notification of rule changes, then it's really not up to people to suddenly automatically know it's a crime then is it? That's up to the law enforcement to rectify and inform people as well as have a transition and grace period. Here it's more like Kim Jung Un took over the Galaxy and changed all the rules without telling people the details. And acidentally side swiping a person by mistake is the same punishment as mass murder with how it's dealt with...

Dude. Simple crimes can just be paid now Instead of having them sit dormant for ever waiting for some AI KWS to light you up. The thread is about Players amurdering PLAYERS.

The system is way better for simple crimes. We just pay our own bounties like fines. Great.

It's the greifers, murderers, trolls who are whining that c&p is worse for them.

I SAY GOOD!
Go play GTA if you want to run around murdering people

A. Controlling Faction in a Station does not confer 100% ownership to all locations within the system - Governments cannot usurp the legal property owenr's rights.
B. Having been a landlord myself you seem to forget that PRIOR WRITTEN NOTICE of said inspection MUST be given to a tenant (the length of time varies between municipalities but is never less than 72 hours) so as to protect the rights of the tenant. Also, under NO circumstances (in the US) is a landlord allowed to enter a tenant's residence without them being present and filming. To do otherwise is considered Felony Trespass, Breaking and Entering, and even Burglary if any property belonging to the Tennant is reported stolen.

It has always been a crime - now the system just won't let you ignore it. And notice WAS given - there is even several notices of version changes in the forums, a link to the change and patch notes ON THE LAUNCHER, and you HAD to know something changed when 3.0.x has dropped as you have to DOWNLOAD and UPGRADE to even play the GAME. If you can't take the time to read the patch notes then you negate your ability to complain about the changes. YOU WERE NOTIFIED AND WARNED!

Sure it has been, you just haven't been paying attention.

I just bagged myself another bad guy. Justice served.

Is this guy really crying about trespass bounties? You can pay them now instead of being hunted or killing yourself to wipe. So much better now. Why is he crying about 600 credits?

Care bears at it again. Too chicken to play in open, but attacking PvPers on the forums. The salt is still plentiful even with the new C&P.

Hi there. I'm a pvp'er, and I play in open all the time. Except when my internet is trash, then I'm relegated to solo otherwise I end up getting matchmaking server errors every time the game tries to connect me to players. I'm on wireless internet, you see, and sometimes, it's just not up to scratch. Anyway, I digress. Let's start again.

Hi there, I'm a pvp'er. I play in open whenever my internet allows it, even when I'm flying my DBX. Fun story: I got interdicted by a 'pvp'er' in an FDL a few weeks ago in my DBX. I think maybe he thought he had an easy meal. Seriously, though, he should have checked my subsystems before he attacked, because the moment he did, I hit silent running, dumped a pair of heat sinks, boosted, and dropped mines. All three mine launchers are engineered, two of them for rebooting drives, the other one for rebooting FSD. Idk, maybe he assumed he could tank them, but the moment he flew into them, he started raging at me in chat.

Now, don't get me wrong, carebear rage is adorable, but rage from 'pvp'ers' is even better. There's a nobility to being a pvp'er, a nobility that I tend to find the majority of people calling themselves 'pvp'ers' tends to shirk. This particular chap decided to rage at me after I disabled his ship and escaped without take a hit from him. He called me a few things in chat, including something that rhymes with baguette, and told me to 'come back and fight me, carebear !' knowing full well I was in an exploration ship designed more with escape in mind than combat.

OP is another such PVP'er. These are the PVP'ers that are actually carebears themselves, those that can't stomach the risk but are happy to be one to others themselves.

I'll say it again: real PVP'er wear their bounties with pride, and lose them with a 'gf' in local. What that means is, a real PVP'er doesn't bother paying their bounty, because they know sooner or later someone is going to take them down anyway. A real PVP'er is going to lose their ship to another player sooner or later. It is going to happen. A real PVP'er doesn't undock their ship without the understanding that they ARE GOING TO LOSE THEIR SHIP ANYWAY. And they're going to do it with dignity, and a 'gf' in local.

OP is not a PVP'er. Oh sure, he's a PVP'er by the definition of the term, but deep down, he is just another carebear himself. Risk averse and scared of being shot at, and ing himself over a little bounty.

No that was me, I had this thread in my list and it popped up again and I saw the latest messages about crimes in general. I didn't realize the whole post was originally about PvP murder and such. It's easy to get lost when topics scroll and you subscribe to many of them and that part was my fault.

I was thinking this was another thread about how dumb it is having to travel at times 400+ ly to a low security system to pay off a stupid 500 credit debt (aka Quince scan missions). So yeah, wrong forum post I ranted on and no wonder I got back such backlash from it. My bad...

No, for me the backlash was because your arguments amount to a fetid load camel poo.

So is your counter-argument just to call his arguments 'fetid camel poo' because that's not much of a counter-argument.

No, what I am saying is that his arguments (as presented) were camel poo...

My responses and corrections to his summations were honest, factual, and verifiable.

In short - He just made stuff up as he went along. I corrected him and countered with verifiable facts.
