3.0.3+ HOW TO MAKE DECENT MONEY

Status
Thread Closed: Not open for further replies.
A thread was opened about this method of optimizing your time when doing those skimmer missions and it was for some reason closed without even watching the video. I am opening it again since I SAW THE VIDEO (while others apparently didnt) and it seems like a legit way to pass your time and make some money. Now that i stated the above, lets see now how this thread goes.

The original thread is this: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/416867-Tutorial-3-0-3-Skimmer-Missions-100M-hr

And it was closed one minute after the thread was started, while the video lasts more than 5 minutes!! They didnt even watch the video lol.

It doesnt look like a bug to me..

Edit: here is the bug report that was opened due to the community manager's action to close the initial thread as a bug. Still waiting for an official statement about this.. i would really like to be informed about where is the bug.

Well there are now cargo missions offering 50 million per 180 tonne, have the devs actually said anything about upper limit payouts that don't involve mode switching or bypassing game mechanics?

What a debacle this whole things is.

I think they pretty much now include mode switching in their design choices. Just look at the way we have to collect stuff on guardian site to unlock the weapons and tell me that it can be done without mode switching. Well it is possible... but in what time frame??

Well this is what I don't understand, these high value cargo missions have been in-game for 8 months or more, if the devs wanted to get rid of them they would have. I have never had to mode switch, so I don't see how they are exploits. I think 50 mill is the upper limit for a single haulage mission at 180 tonnes, never seen higher, now of course a T9 or Cutter can hold 4 of those missions.

If you're going to use the wedge yourself under a pipe trick, pick the missions to higher security bases, as the smaller bases will leave you out in the open with nothing but a few light posts and a wall.

That's what you used to do back in the first generation of stackable skimmer missions, its quite fun. Though back then, the mission board actually cared about minor faction economic state, so you actually needed a handful of systems to increase the changes of doing it whenever you want. Shame they nerfed that too, now you can just read the forum and will be set. Booo.

How to make decent money: Trade, do missions, bounty hunt and explore as you go.

Money is so easy to get its unreal.

i know. Thread has another very serious point and it isnt about money making. Its about freedom of speech and about a thread that was closed without even investigating its content. I guess someone can report bad moderation, but you report those kind of things to the guy that closed the original thread lol.

Where would you get them? Like what systems? I am having so much trouble finding any trade missions to fill my Type-9 that offer more than a million credits each, and I don't want to "Mode switch", it feels gross and like an exploit, it's not how I want to play the game.

PM for details

anything you talk about here will probably get nurfed due to "Vet" complaints...people makingmoney faster then they did at/before launch, hurts their pride.

You are starting to sound like a broken record.. Fair enough you are p'd off about navy ranks (p'd me off too) However no point spamming every thread you come across.

@Dr Gentech - Got your msg mate, PM sent

Money is so easy to get its unreal.

Remember the old days, when you saw a player docking in an Anaconda and thought "one day I'll be able to afford one of those..."

FD practically hand out sacks of cash now. Seems to happen in every game though - starts out stingy and hard to come by, the plebs don't like it and then they do the full reverski on it. People complain about 'easy ranking', but actually the 'easy money' is the real issue. It used to be *hard* to buy the hull, now it's like 140 million for thrusters...give me a couple of hours...

Hey there 777Driver,

I like doing the delivery missions and I need some cash for re-buys. Can I also PM you to get some help?

Sure mate, but I think if everyone hammers the mission board the required haulage missions will dry up. I'll send you the details, then thats the last one for now.

Cheers

the people telling everybody they just want an easy win button/instagib, and need to shut up the games perfect, etc... keep saying the same over and over, i might as well follow their example...

Why do you care what other people think? The devs screwed up, they will fix the rank bug, life goes on. No need to keep spamming the forum.

Frontier should add a ship that appears out of the blue while the player is in their SRV.

The ship would be equipped with dumbfires and nothing else, and proceed to nuke the whole settlement from above with around 6 volleys of 6 dumbfires.

It should do this at a distance of 300-350m. =p

It's not true, though, is it? There has been exploit after exploit after exploit ever since launch - nothing is new, there have consistently been very fast ways of making money in ED. People who did it the hard way in the past, are simply joined by people who also choose to do it the hardway now. And there is nothing wrong with that. Play ED how you want to play it.

You will always have people acting out of jealousy, righteousness or hurt-pride [where they realise they did something tedious over weeks and months, where someone else has done the same tedious thing in days]. That is not a "Vet" thing. It's just cheap salt.

Not sure what "Vet" has got to do with it, unless it is some ageist agenda?
