Long range haulage missions (Pleiades)

Looks like high paying long range haulage missions are starting to appear. I've managed to load up on 40 million credits worth of missions for a run from the Pleiades to the Bubble. So far maxing at 6 million per 130 tones, These are perfect for a T9 or Cutter with 700+ tonne capacity.

The cargo is just personal weapons, which means the payouts can potentially increase a fair bit with more valuable cargo. (There is a max limit to how much a mission can pay)

Also a few 10 mill+ Multi trip missions.

Thanks FD, this is exactly what I've been waiting for.

look fd, there are missions that are actually worth doing!

bummer its only like 1% of them.

thanks fd!

I used to do data runs from Sol to Hutton Orbital for 80M per run. But now I could only stack 6 missions which took an hour! to get. From my perspective the long range data missions have had quite a nerf. Also the rewards have come down from 3.5M to 1.6M each.

Time to get the Cutter out again and haul crap (bio) for some creds instead.

I love long range hauling.

Is there enough to fill up a Cutter?
Is mode switching necessary if you want to fill up your Cutter's cargo hold?

I hate mode switching, but I hate doing long range hauls with my Cutter only half full even more.

Are you still here?

Blocked him long ago. I only see his salty whining when someone quotes him. I am pointing at you :).

Where is bio waste mentioned? Those old CEOS/SOTHIS missions where good, the only major problem was that it was limited to those systems, and only few type of commodities (mainly biowaste to agri worlds) The payouts did get ridiculous (up 200 million per run)

The new implementation is exactly what people have been asking for, A wide range of starports to obtain long range missions, very good payouts without feeling like it's an exploit, different types of cargo to different system states and economies.

I'd say that's better than sitting in SC staring at a counter for 45 mins.

@Iskariot, yes plenty to fill up a Cutter, I am in my mining T9 at the moment, 640 tonnes capacity, have called my 720 tonne Trade T9 out here.

Jeez bunch a grumpy old men here :S

I also have to say I appreciate the choice of rewards that came with Beyond. I was browsing some mid to long range passenger missions yesterday, and they throw some interesting stuff at you. Also I might employ the wing missions to rep boost a friend into Cutter range. As soon as they don't horribly break and refuse us to turn in the stuff to the depot, that is. But yeah, those long range hauls from Pleiades look juicy. Reminds me of the meta alloy haul that was generated there in 2.3 once.. sadly you were not allowed to take it, because it was 300t of meta alloys and the payout was over 40 million xD

You could take them for a while, but it definitely felt like an exploit, you could a 100 mill in 8 minutes.

The BGS just bases the cargo run on the value of the cargo, then adds some multiplier. The problem is Meta alloys are incredibly expensive. I think the devs initially capped it, but the cap was throwing up errors, then those cargo runs vanished completely.

Thanks for this. Missions like this will provide those station repairs charity runs I do out to the Pleiades with a profitable return leg.

Edit: gave rep for original post, keep forgetting to do that, should know better by now!

My mission hub is Sol, and pre patch I had plenty of Hutton Orbital runs for data delivery. I would load like 7 or 8 of them and then do a run.

Post patch...I haven't seen a single mission to Hutton Orbital. All I see now are wing missions that pay out 2 mil for 4000 tons of cargo, and then next to it I see a non-wing mission that pays 4 mil for 180 tons of cargo.

Gee....guess which one I'm taking. These wing missions are largely just more clutter in the mission screen, except we don't have a way to filter them out.

Sadly mate the long haul and high value routes are not showing up today, probably because I mentioned them yesterday via PM to quite a few people, either someone reported them, or the high amount of cmdrs just wrecked the board. Short haul good paying missions are still available out here.

I wonder how long it will be before someone asks where you loaded up and then the traffic reports will go through the roof again :)

Already happened mate, I stopped replying to PM's in the end.

If you find something, then enjoy the boon while the state remains. Telling people, is just shooting yourself in the foot. Almost certainly the influx triggered a BGS change, but it's also become SOP for any credit source to be reported, which seldom ends well. It's just not worth it. Frontier have been more proactive with player groups, so they're likely better (read: more quickly) informed now.

Hope you find another source to fill that beast of a type-9, m8. And when you do, ride the wave, my friend. o7

Yeah it's not a huge issue, still plenty of missions to fill up the ship. Just not sure why they got rid of the longhaul stuff. Anyway lesson learned, I'll only be sharing this stuff with a select few in the future.

Strangely enough I was going to ask today if you saw any change after letting a few people know where the goodies were. Now I know the answer without asking!

I dare say that they'll come back again but I'm pretty certain that you are not going to be telling anyone PM or otherwise!

BY the way, your PM storage is full :)

I wonder why...

[Edit] Ah, you already know. Fair do's

That sucks :( I've never understood why fdev removed long distance hauling as it wasn't massively overpaying and they knew it was a popular profession :/

I never did find the station in the pleiades offering them lol! :D

I just did a quick check before I head out. Long range missions are still there, I have 20 million worth of cargo to transport 300LY, still plenty or room for more in my T9. Forget about those huge paying xeno missions, even if the devs haven't removed them, the fact that many people know about it means they will be very hard to come by now.

Nice one, I used to run these missions in the early xbox days in a cobra mkiii from either sothis or San. It paid for a type six and I really enjoyed it tbh.

It got nerfed before I moved on to bigger ships lol
