Couldn't bring myself to login

So ye - spent the whole week sitting at my computer.. and 'nearly' logging in to play Elite D. The only problem is - everytime i planned to play the game.. I COULDNT BRING MYSELF TO EVEN LOG IN.

The sad truth is that this game feels so much like a boring and endless job in an office, that after i got home from work.. i just couldnt do it!

I did finally manage to bring myself to log in today, and I spent couple hours in the game basically sitting in station then did a bit of mining. But honestly - most of the time i was watching youtube videos, listening to the radio or even watching TV while alt-tabbing. After couple hours, i'd had enough.

Ill be taking (another) year or two break from the game now, and ill come back in a couple of years to see if FDevs started listenin to the playerbase by then.. but judging by their track record; i seriously doubt it.

Sad really. Cya.

And no. U cant haz my stuffs ;-)

What drew me to this game when I first bought it was the idea of just exploring the galaxy and discovering systems all over the galaxy. I did bounty hunting (I find combat extremely boring) when I first started the game ONLY to make enough money to buy an ASPX (This was the easiest way to get money I found when first starting). As soon I bought an ASPX I went off exploring. I got so much enjoyment of getting Discovered by tags and seeing planets I know nobody else will even see.

I earned Elite in exploration and decided to come back to Sol to check out all the engineering stuff. I then started a grind to unlock them all and buy tons of ships and make a combat build and trading build and recently I just became unmotivated to do any of that. It was tough for me to even log in because I knew what the grind was going to entail. 2 days ago I decided to just take off again and continue my exploration and INSTANTLY started to enjoy the game again just like when I first started to explore.

Welp that's my story of really the only thing that gets me excited to come back to the game. Good thing this galaxy is as big as it is or I would of just uninstalled it.

Its not for everyone and I myself need to take some break every now and then.

Its for people that just want zero stress and just wanna chill out. Role Playing also adds an extra layer of fun, but idk if you are into that kind of thing. And by that I don't mean with other people. It could be as simple just making up a story in your head of who and what your character is and what they are trying to do. It helps me find motivation to do alot of stuff.

I can't bring myself to log out. I figure the more I'm logged in the higher the time played will be, and if I ever get into a particularly ferocious spat with someone over some random minutia of game play, I'll be able to screen shot that staggeringly large stat to prove my superiority over them.

Unfortunately, Frontier do listen to the player-base - that's why, tonight, I destroyed every NPC in five, 'threat 4 Weapon Fire' USSs in succession (Sol - every other USS was threat 4) with my fixed eff. pulse Vulture (without restocking chaff/SCBs); this included the 3 Condas, 4 Vultures (three times) & two Condas & a Cobra, scenarios without losing my shields once - pathetic!

Oooh...why don't I deliberately handicap myself further & use an Adder? Yeah, thanks for your input!:|

"Good job, challenge-averse snowflakes!"

Back on topic - Byeeeee!

The game is as wide as your imagination, you either get it, or you don't

Hey OP, my advise is do not login. As another thread on the frontp age points out "your time is precious", so fill it with things you enjoy.

There's nothing wrong with taking a break from the game. Even the best videogames get repetitive after a while.

After six or twelve months, you may get a sudden desire to return, and Elite Dangerous will be here waiting for you.

Also, can I haz... ah nevermind. :D

OP:
Give me your email address and password and I'll log in for you.

Edit:
If you give me your credit card details, I'll buy you some lovely Asp Scout skins too.

I've also reached the "there's nothing enjoyable left to do" phase. Friends have moved on as well, making the game very boring for me.
Last time I logged on I just sat in my hangar, looking for something to do. Only to give up and play a different game. It happens.
