>3000 shields on a Corvette?

Like, how? :)

I've started engineering my shields on the corvette and am running thermal resist (g5 I think!) with 3 x resistance augmented (g5) and 1 heavy duty (g2). I've the resistances in the high 50s and 60s percentage-wise but the shield strength is only 1471. How the heck do you see figures in the 3000s?? Will the heavy duty G5 make that much of a difference? The problem is finding all the materials, even with trading is a right pain :)

Mind you saying that - I am taking a heck of a lot of a beating in fights now, so clearly something is working :)

Yeah, I’m at >4K but I’m running 7 with mostly heavy duty. Resistance is important too. I could increase it but I don’t see the point to be honest.

You get a lot of the top end shield booster engineering.

I'm sitting at 3500 on the nose with 39% kinetic resist, 40% thermal resist and 50% explosive resist. And that's A rated. If I went prismatic, I think I'd be at 4000.

7A thermal resist shield, 6 G5 heavy duty boosters, all with kin resist special, except one which has extra capacity special, 2 heat sinks, 2 7B shield cell banks, A rated G5 armored PP. All multicannons except 2 small feedback railguns. Power is tight but manageable.

8A thermal resist shield, 6 G5 heavy duty boosters, all with kin resist special, except one which has extra capacity special, 2 heat sinks, 2 7B shield cell banks, A rated G5 armored PP. All multicannons except 2 small feedback railguns. Power is tight but manageable.

I am 100% sure this is the best PvE loadout. I also have 4400 armor with 46% resist to everything, that's why the A rated, not biweave. I can hang with shields down too.

Wait, you fitted a class 8 shield on a Corvette?

2 resist, 4 heavy duty shield boosters on a 7C reinforced bi weave shield gives just short of 3.2k shield strength, more than enough thermal resistance and a kinetic resistance that can off a frag build.
If you toss in some more materials on high shield capacity, you can probably break 3.4k without trouble.
You'll also have 2 spare utility mounts for chaff/heat sink(if you want to run shield cell banks)

Using Super Capacitors on HD booster should be better most of the time. How did you get 4400 armor?

I made a lot of tests and the shield of my Federal Corvette lasts the longest when fitting 6 * A0 grade 5 heavy duty shield boosters with super capacitors, 1 * A0 grade 5 shield booster resistance augmented and 1 * A0 shield booster grade 5 thermal resistance. The shieldgenerator itself is an A7 prismatic shield grade 5 reinforced. All this may give you over 8500 MJ of shield if you want.

I'll post my build later, I need to post my courier build for dognosh too. To be fair, at the moment it's 4000 because I've got a fuel scoop and SRV fitted. But basically, in pve spec, I can get it up to 4700 with all HRPs and 2 MRPs. All HRPs heavy duty with explosive resist special (to keep resists balanced, as I don't have PD on this ship). Currently using heavyduty lightweiht bulkheads too, so that will go up EVEN MORE when I go reactive.

You will have terrible kinetic resist if you go all supercapacitors. It does nothing to increase the heavy reduction of the thermal resist shield mod, and as you can see, I do not lack MJ. ;)

If your not gonna use it for pvp, just go for high resistance bi weave shields.

Not sure about that.

As a rule, I have bi-weaves fitted to all my combat ships so when I outfitted my 'vette I automatically stuck 7C bi-weaves on it.
In use, I found them to be pretty feeble and they still took an inconveniently long time to recharge.

Ended up swapping them for 7A shields which are significantly stronger.
I can fight 3 or 4 Elite Anacondas before I lose a ring of shields and then I just pump 'em back up with an SCB.

Personally, when it comes to big shields I don't reckon any of them recharge quickly enough to wait for it to happen naturally.
So, given that I'm going to use SCBs anyway, I figure I might as well fit the strongest shields possible.

Which reminds me, today I should have access to the Smurf princess' shields again.
Will be buying 2 x 7A prismatics for my 'vettes and maybe an 8A prismatic for my T10, as well as a bunch of others.
My wallet will be significantly lighter afterwards.
