A miners life for me

Mining inefficiently is easy. So if anyone thinks it's becoming too industrial, they know what to do.

Oh no! did you get a repo notice in the mail again?

<dramatic actor nods dramatically>

Tired of average returns?
Are you finding dud rocks?
Losing Limpets?

I do like a bit of relaxing mining in a T10 now and again, but the one thing that drives me away is the constant strobing red lights right in the middle of my view. I wish there was a way to turn them off or at least stop limpets triggering the proximity alarm.

30m for a 3 day trip is comparable low.

What mining still lacks is some skill to improvwe your findings or mining efficiency. atm it is repettitve and based sololy on randomness, there are no real clusters of specific materials. It's just every asteroid his own pull on the slotmachine.

Made 7-8 million credits in one run, haz res mining in my T10: https://coriolis.io/outfit/type_10_...OIAKtgIYC2ABAAoA2j62tATMADMQoA&bn=Team Player

Had my BF in one of the fighters, providing cover. It was quite fun and intense! Haz RESs get quite.... interesting as soon as you have cargo on board. Crazy-lucrative rocks, though. Got 17 tons of painite from a single asteroid on that run!

Multicrew seems to have been made very buggy by one of the 3.0.x patches, though. Tons of disconnects and strage behavior. Very frustrating when both parties are on the game LAN, and when we've never had trouble with this before. What's a QA department?

BTW, is there anything written to the Player Journal when mining?

Could someone who has just mined, please have a ganders!

I might just write a Mining Plugin for EDMC if i can think what to do with teh data! ;)

Mapping out high value rocks takes more skill, is not based on randomness, and increases efficiency and profit.

Yesterday I made 22 million credits in a 1 hour 20 minute mining run.

T10 is my current main mining rig. Dont think the red lights are that bad.

My main grib is when i go into the gal map it closes the cargo scoop. Dont know why this is.

Maybe I'm the outlier but I use the cutter for mining. It has everything you could possibly want for outfitting and defense plus luxury. Not to mention it makes for some awesome selfies.

I got into mining to unlock the engineers, and was glad the devs forced that on me cuz I was avoiding this activity like the plague, but it happens to be one of the most relaxing activities in the game.

You get a record of what is collected. But anything ignored or just left won't be recorded.

One thing I noticed when I went out mining: did FDev make limpets SLOWER? It felt like the limpets were taking a lot longer to return to the ship than I remembered. Did they point they fly to before beginning their final approach get moved further away from the ship?

I managed to pick up an old decomissioned Cutter. Not in the greatest of shape. Kind of an old rust bucket actually, but it more than gets the job done...

5 pages and no one has mentioned the shadows yet  I used my clipper for mining for a while and its shadow on the asteroids looked great.

On one of my alt accounts I outfitted a keelback as a miner mainly to get the engineer unlocks but that made a nice small mining ship and I was enjoying using it to fulfil small contracts in non-pristine rings close to home. I couldn't fit a scoop so travelling long distances to pristines was a pain.

The flight-path has been changed, so that your limpets stop for a cigarette before returning with the fragments.

I have been engineering my T-10 Mining Ship for a trip. Going to try to make it to the Omega Nebula and operate out of the Omega asteroid mining base this weekend. I imagine I will spend more time flying there and back than doing any actual mining but some times I just like to blast some tunes, throw on the Rift hmd, and just fly.
