The long range mod for multicannons gives you faster round velocity (double?) in addition to better damage drop off. I stuck it on some turrets with A grade sensors, seems to work ok, chipping away at stuff kilometres out.

Rapid fire inertial impact burst lasers, for those times you want to hit somebody beside you with fixed weapons.
I've always liked burst lasers and never understood why so many players dismiss them. Is there a reason for this?

Even the large one is a little sluggish. I'd love if FDev normalized the burst firing cycle to be the same across all sizes, and instead just increased the delay between bursts on the larger weapons.Yes, they used to be much worse than now. They used to offer worse DPE than pulse lasers with very few upsides.
At some point during Season 2 Frontier improved them to offer slightly better DPE than pulse, albeit worse thermal load.
The main thing wrong with burst lasers nowadays is confined to just one size: huge. The c4 burst's firing cycle is absurdly prolonged, making ensuring that the whole burst hits difficult and tiresome.

From 2016:at least two other who share my point of view.
bursts are great in small and medium slots, because the actual "burst" is fast there.
but large and huge have so slow bursts, that you are in danger of friendly fire incidents even though you are not holding down that fire button...
tl;dr
Make burst lasers burstier by making the burst quicker, and increasing both the delay between bursts, and the damage of the burst (same DPS)
In their current state, burst lasers are in a somewhat strange place. It's not that they're particularly weak, it's just that their niche isn't well defined. If you want sustained DPS, you go for pulse lasers. If you want good spike damage, you go for beams. Burst lasers just kinda awkwardly straddle the middle ground of that spectrum.
It doesn't have to be like this, though. The advantage that bursts offer is the following: low time-on-target required. The idea with bursts is that they do their damage all at once (you know, in bursts), only necessitating you to be aimed correctly for a moment, and allowing you to spend more time positioning. Unfortunately, bursts don't take this concept far enough. The time between shots is still pretty short. Longer than pulse lasers, but not really long enough to make meaningful use of. To make matters worse, as burst lasers go up in size, the duration of the burst itself (and thus, the time needed on target) get longer- A lot longer. This is silly. It blurs the line between the other lasers, and just exacerbates the problem as you move up in class. To remedy this, and increase the variety of options available to the player, I propose the following:
1) Make the burst duration of all classes as short as the small burst laser. The small burst laser's burst is very short, as it should be. All other burst lasers should use this speed.
2) Dramatically increase the amount of time between bursts. In order for the burst-style weapon to really shine, there needs to be enough downtime to actually do something in it. I'm thinking somewhere in the area of 3-4 seconds.
3) Increase the damage by a proportional amount, such that the overall DPS remains the same. With all that downtime between shots, when these things fire, they should hit HARD.
With these changes, burst lasers would feel like a unique weapon instead of just the awkward middle man on the alpha -> DPS spectrum. They'd have their own fighting style, and well defined niche. They'd have their strength, but still be balanced. Really, I can't see why not to make these changes. What do you guys think?

Focus... dont make me laugh... did you read the description of that garbage?
No, no I didn't. I assume it helps me see better. Or concentrate maybe. Or something like that anyway.
Are you saying that the focused blueprint is garbage?Focus... dont make me laugh... did you read the description of that garbage?
Are you saying that the focused blueprint is garbage?
Sure no. Same like short range something. Its there. Its good. But sucks... sorry no offense
