Don't forget there are two proposed expansions.
Walking round space ships (boarding, repelling boarders) THIS is space-legs.
Then there is a second, walking around stations.
In my mind We can have 3 (paid for) flavours of Elite.
1. ED season 1 (space only)
2. Horizons (landing on planets)
3. On foot walking around stations. <= This is it's own game in it's own right, you don't even need to own a spaceship. If Frontier is smart enough, this game is already in the works effectively being worked on as a standalone title, because it can stand on it's own, it's ALSO an expansion for season1 and/or seaons2 pass holders.
But what about space legs!!
Ah, space legs, *is* the cross-over point.
Where pilots from Season1 and horizons AND station legs, can meet up.
Space ships can dock, board be them living or derelicts.
StationLegs players can be picked up to be transported between stations, For them, they never leave the corridor/room/environment even if to *us* pilots, the non-pilots are just hired thugs providing them with a shuttle service, they are providing protection for some VIP below decks.
For me if space-legs would be cool, it's the interaction, or the ability to launch station-legs as a non-flight-sim game, which doubles as an expansion for Elite Dangerous, so the graphical detailing & game mechanics are genuine.
