Guardian FSD booster question

I don't get it, not happy with the personal narative ?

ROFL

Worst part : The Ram Tah mission is actually quite fun to do, esp in coop. But it's been deliberatly designed in a way
that by the end of the mission you might be able to unlock the gauss cannon. Everything else is grind-locked.

And here no one can spin the "play normally and it'll eventually come up" white knight mystical tale.

It got the greasy fingerprints of the "We value your time" usual suspect all over it.

As a firm believer in "Engineer as you play your normal game", I wholeheartedly agree.
I feel very lucky that I was involved in lots of the 3.0.0 Guardian discoveries, so have a pile of Blueprints that would now be considered an exploit. Am not going to be wasting them on a bugged or niche Guardian Module.

It's just looks like (more) epically shallow lazy design. Go and farm this point and click gameplay for X hours... over and over... repeat...

LOL!! What happened to that feature?

It is. I expected better from Beyond but now I realize I was foolish to do so. I'm afraid to see how the Q4 update will pan out for exploration, as my confidence in Frontier designing fun and engaging game mechanics is pretty low at the moment. And whatever we do get will most likely be bugged and broken anyway.

they will remove the advanced disco scanner, and everyone will be forced to use the basic disco scanner, cause thats more fun :)

You really do have wonder.
Are they not even the slightest bit embarrassed? Sandy - have pity on us poor fools.
Would be interesting to see this example of game-play in ED discussed in a 'magazine' review of the game.
I guess they will address this by stopping the relogging and forcing us go to eight different places, several hundred LY apart.

No shame. They even have the balls to come up on stream with stuff like : "Personal narative" and "We value your time"

Clueless, delusional or dishonest, pick your choice.

And yes, I am agravated by this. Rightly so. This is gutter trash game design.

Way to take a dump on the otherwise really nice Ram Tah mission with all the good art & lore. Be ashamed.

Do the Guardian Ruins circus several times over.

Any particular ruins, or any at all?
I only know the first one discovered, where I did failed the Ram Tah mission. I don't remember collecting any power cells or whatnot, just caskets & orbs and the like.

I'm totally getting a FSD booster, but I might keep it turned off (especially on Exploration ships) until I need it.

As much as I love this game I am forced to echo the observations of many CMDR's who say that these Guardian missions and modules are a major disappointment. This FSD boost is but the latest example. Other aspects of 3.0 are nice, but this is a big dud I think. A shame really.

The grind is terrible, and why they didn't make this a utility slot that can be used by the DBX and the ASPX (ships with Explorer in their name) without being crippled for long range exploration is beyond me.

So, say with a 50ly jump Anaconda, what would it bring to the game (when you enabled it)?

+10 lyr, which could come handy in the outer rim or places far above/under the galactic plane.

Also, with a neutron FSD boost it's 40 extra lyr. Nothing to snide at :)

Nope. I started a topic on it earlier: doing a site more than once is ridiculousgame design. Which is why I like the concept of the module, but wont have one.

Its ridiculous making us repeating the same thing over and over again. But its a trend on most game designers nowadays.

It would be better if they had more blueprint variety, and to unlock the modules it would only be needed one blueprint. One blueprint for power plants, another for distributors, etc... It would make more sense, and there would be less gind in the game.

What fun is there, in doing the pylons activation, 20 or 30 times? I only enjoyed it the first 3 or 4 times.

There's already a shed loads of materials, so what do they do, add yet more "VIP" (Guardian) materials to pay for this new module.

There's no reason this couldn't have been a "regular module" from the Technology Broker paid for with regular/existing materials etc...

It just seems like a lack of imagination backed by a lack of appreciation of the inane vapid grind they're putting players through.

It seems that they tried to design it in such way to reduce jump range gap between explorers and everybody else. In another words - increase jump range for combat/trade/etc ships without increasing it for explorers. And IMO it is generally a good idea. And the fact that module is not another "must have" one, but has its pros and cons instead, is good to.
The only issue is how terrible the way of obtaining it is... as much as i would like it, i will not have one, sadly, i am just not braindead enough...

Excited and depressed at the same time.
Can't wait to add LY to my combat ships.
Am not happy to take on yet another grind for more mats.
But I will do it for this!

Seems like the fuel rats and guardians are working closely together judging by the fuel usage stats..

IMO the extra fuel cost should be +25% for the 5H. +105% for the 1H module makes zero sense.

OTOH it appears no one at FD made the effort of fitting the module and at least testing a jump with it since it exceeds max fuel cap for a jump [haha]

Yeah except the Anaconda is an explorer, with lots of slots (and lots of everything else), and it is even more god-like in that role which I think is a terrible outcome. AspX and DBX are super slot constrained when kitted out for long term exploration. Even repair limpets were a no go, now this.

I agree, it should be +5/10/15/20/25 % and not +105etc... You give up a slot, you pay a steep increase in fuel for a flat +2/4/6/8/10 LY. That's what I'd consider balanced. Not the way it is now. Hope this is an error.

Yes! That would be very nice and useful! I'd like that on my exploration Conda!

But I simply can't face (accept) the gameplay activity to get it...

It's not unusual to gate new content with new recipes though. I accept that in other games, but ED totally overdid the grind and ingredient bloat. That stuff you could spend at a roulette table, remember? For super OP stuff. I mean it's not like a significant fraction has figured out what these components are and where to find them without external help, but pile on. RNG God is gonna find out who is true believer and sort out the unwilling heathen.

Why don't we have a facepalm smiley?

Same. I have an idea to maybe kinda game it in coop, but if doesn't work then too bad for the guys who did the work on this.
