News Temporary removal of Guardian FSD Booster

Hey guys,

For those who have already purchased the Guardian FSD Booster and are unable to use it due to these issues, we're very sorry for the loss of time and materials spent creating this module, and we will be refunding you the materials used to create this module, and will be allowing you to keep the Guardian FSD Booster which will have the fix automatically applied when it is available. You'll also receive this message with instructions on how to claim your materials via an ingame inbox message.

Thank you for your understanding!

I contacted support the last time you gave out a 'refund' of materials for the engineered Guardian power plant, asking what exactly was in this package. I still haven't heard anything back about it.

I distinctly remember launching a can of Budweiser at the telly when Traore did that 360 degree turn one, a piece of ball control so sublime that it surpassed anything that he ever managed to perform intentionally.

I didn't know that Budweiser was available across the drink. When I was in high school, we used to tell everyone that the name was an acronym that stood for:

Because
U
Deserve
What
Every
Individual
Should
Enjoy
Regularly

Hello Commanders,

We are aware that there are some issues with the Guardian FSD booster which was recently introduced to the game, and we have temporarily removed the module from being available in the game while we fully investigate and implement a fix.

In the meantime over the next few days, we will be in contact with the Commanders who have already purchased this module.

We sincerely appreciate the feedback and bug reports sent in to us and will keep everyone posted as to when this fix will be available.

Any rough ETA of when a fix could be coming? My Corvette (currently stuck in a vat of molasses) would love to know :D

Oh how I wish I'd read this thread before setting off for Guardian space. I've just spent ages trying to figure out why, even though I have just returned with all the mats required, I couldn't find any Broker offering to swap my mats for a Guardian FSD unlock! [where is it]

I did, however, manage to find someone to trade my mats for a Guardian Hybrid PD unlock. Imagine my surprise when comparing the performance against my Legacy G5 PD. As noted a few times earlier in this thread the GHPD appears to not be working as it should do either. Will this also be addressed?

First it was the Guardian power plants being modded by engineers when they shouldn't have been able to... Now the Guardian FSD boosters get removed completely thanks to the usual FD QA levels...

Remind me what the 3.0 Beta was for again??

FSD Boosters weren't available in the Beta.

When introduced, I took a look at the requirements for Guardian Tech and decided for the time being that I wasn't going to undergo another GRIND.

I don't need them for what I'm doing now, so I'm glad that I'm missing all the fun of the re-calls.

However, some of you are a bit over the top with criticism, try to be adults about it. All in all, I'm still having fun with my wing mates.

Complaints

I love all these ppl complaining, huge es, wha wha wha , you're not doing anything to make it perfect as on release right? So shut the up. That is all

The amount of failed releases versus successful ones must be a pretty sad statistic.

I don't want to bash FDev, I love this game and want it to get much closer to living up to the potential it has.
It isn't though and that is the truth. It's sad, and I'm playing this game with a heavy heart these days, because it feels doomed.

I'm also expecting the premium releases this year to charge us for gameplay features that probably should have been in there from the beginning. Very quiet on that front.

After taking a break to play "Sea of griefs" i return to Elite and now read this threat... Said it before but it seems even more that Frontier committed all it´s resources to this Jurassic theme park game and left Elite somewhere in the back ally. They purchased a new franchise and a new building - no idea if they started to employ a bigger staff to cover all the extended work for their endeavours. Here is a HUGE community committed for a long term and "Lifetime" investment to a game. This game cannot be run by a simple procedure generated code on it´s own - evidently.... The community and player groups are making all affords to improve the game but are not heard - at least it feels like this to them. I totally understand why this Jurassic franchise is too important to let it fail for Frontier - the question is if they also get it why this applies to Elite aswell as one could say that the treatment of Elite foreshadows the treatment for future games coming out of the company. The last 25 years of the "quick cash from game franchises - then getting bought from EA - then becoming dismantled - aka franchise death" path should have started to teach people in the industry something - or not ? I love the game and will continue to play it for a long time - as far as it stands. But you´re leaving so much potential just wasting away that it´s just sad at this point. You´ve got all the right suggestions and constructive opinions already out there - people are wanting to have a dialogue to improve the game - use it and don´t loose it please !

The in game messages from Frontier stated the modules will be returning for the 3.1 update, which is the Beyond Q2 update, so most likely sometime near the end of June.

In other words, you've got a while to wait Ziljan.

Also, it would be great to have a Guardian blueprint source for which I don't have to do the same stuff 20 times with flying away and relogging in-between. This I consider a chore, and that's coming from someone who actually liked the Engineers in their previous, original iteration.

Edit: I hate this arbitrary mish-mash of upgrade system with the tech/material broker, AX and Guardian systems layer upon layer. I was out exploring for a couple of months and after getting back I've got no clue about the whole stuff. How daunting this is for a new player? This constant one step forward and two step back gameplay 'improvement' is totally different compared to the measured progress we had before. Can we please swap Sandro with Michael Brookes?

So GalNet just posted an article today stating that the FSD boosters are available again?

https://community.elitedangerous.com/en/galnet/uid/5ac6393b5f314a6a0f15ca55

GalNet said:
A range of new Guardian-inspired modules are now available from the galaxy’s technology brokers. These modules have been developed by the engineer Ram Tah, following his acquisition of data from Guardian sites. Pilots can now purchase a Guardian power distributor, a Guardian FSD booster and a Guardian shard cannon. The cannon is available in both fixed and turreted versions. An independent engineering specialist made this comment: “These Guardian-human hybrid modules offer additional resilience and firepower – both very welcome to Commanders flying combat missions. By taking advantage of the Guardians’ expertise, we may be able to replicate their success in fighting the Thargoids.”

Have they been fixed already and reinstated? Or does Frontier just not know what they are doing?
