PvP Why PvP is not popular in Elite Dangerous?

Oh yeah I know. Sucks really. CQC was going to get more attention but went the same way.

Really it's in the players' hands but as you see mostly it's combative and dismissive. The side that need to get people on their side are ... not good at getting people on their side tending instead to belittle and increase their attack level as things get worse and more people leave Open.

Gotta pitch your action at the right level, this isn't it so things keep getting worse.

I had a couple of times where I had to... take a break from the forums.
And each of those times, said dismissing behavior, coupled with same arguments over and over, and total self-centeredness and short-sightedness of some people are what made express myself in a way where I was made to take a forced break. And I am a very patient person.

If I had no hopes about future of this game and/or being a bit more misanthropical, I would now be busy ganking explorers in my... Exploraconda, with 300 dps of lightweight weaponry, G5 6A drives and 1200 mjs of resistant shielding. Or playing another game altogether, instead of forum grind.

The reason for mentioned attitude is not the elitism of PvP players. At least in absolute most of the cases.

Sounds like you're one of the people I've been looking for. One of the only reasons I put up with posters who are so determined to keep the game mired in the mud as rlsg is to find players such as yourself who still have an open mind, seek to learn and want the betterment of the game for all involved.

I'm going to PM you a link to discord channel of like minded players where you can speak your opinions without people clobbering you over the head in an effort to shut you up. It'll make a refreshing change of pace from what you constantly run into here, and I guarantee you'll be around people that you will enjoy playing with and learning from.

There are more than enough of those players, just not in this forum. Dont let this biased forum reflect on the state of the game.

A breach of the "naming and shaming" terms of the EULA/ToS. Perhaps FD should sanction those that do such things rather than let FD handle it.

Naming and shaming an in game avatar. You are way too sensitive, is that the new age stuff of being offended by everything?

While you may be pro-cheating, the rest of us are not.

Funny that almost EVERY other developer out there takes a tough stance on cheating. Even going as far as publically listing the number of cheaters caught and clearly showing a no nonsense, no chances approach.

Then you have Elite Dangerous.. Almost a meme about how to deal with cheating and exploitation.

Funny that, whenever I have tried to get FD to take a tougher stance on exploiters, especially of the credit variety:many of the recent posters here defend their money-fountains to the hilt.

That's quite the non sequitur. Personally, I regard mode swapping to effect power play/bgs to be exploitative. Can we fix that, too?

Well, you cannot punish a majority of players for choosing most effective progression ways avaliable. And those activities being stupid af hurts it alot as well. Yet, level of stupidity there was not too outstanding in the whole progression picture. They took less time at least.

PvP cheating, c-logging included, is quite a different story. As if solo mode being avaliable does not provide enough godmodding for "roleplay purposes" of ganker's victims.

In that light, what is there to say about clogging noobhunters?

It's pretty funny, wolf. Take volyboom or quince or 17 Draconis, there were thousands of people enjoying those fountains. Are we to believe they were all PvPers?

I'm against cheats and exploiters, but some here seem to wish to pick and choose and have their favourite exploits not counted.

I never said they were, just some wish to pick and choose their exploits.

Yes and you were not being genuine when you said it you were flamebaiting; the suggestion had been made to roll-back the credits of all who'd used the money fountains and you responded in normal troll style saying wipe it all.

Honestly, I think it's more they have stopped caring about any exploit apart from combat logging.

We ( PVP'ers ) know that if FDEV actually fixed exploits and retroactively punished anyone who had used them. It would be 99% of the player base.

What I class as an exploit is pretty vast. The only thing FDEV has in the last 3 years, was the one that allowed PVP players to avoid some grind in RNGineers.
All the other exploits are quietly patched out and everyone keeps their gains. ( Barely remember there being a bug so incredible that some missions would reward hundreds of millions for travelling like 1ly, which you could stack. I think actually patched and refunded that one )

I would happily lose the 8billion I have. Which took me little over 6hrs of Netflix, Draconis and dumbfires, for the game to be balanced, fixed and everyone reset back to starter ships.
