I resent being called good or bad...ugly I can live with cos I know thats just the jealousy talking...
Its best fer everyone that Ulster politics arent even seen by those who have little to no understanding of them...let them tie themselves up in knots over what to do with us, its amusing if nothing else knowing that Im quite possibly a tiny little part of the problem as I refuse to so much as recognize the other side or even sit in the same room as them. Forums are cool cos they mean ye dont have to share the same oxygen supply and still go through the motions of communication.
Ive actually since made real life friends with a guy who tried to take me head off with a shotgun over 25 years ago through using the same forums...I was literally staring down the barrels when he pulled the trigger and the ammunition misfired cos the firing cap was some cheap thing made in China or some other 3rd world country.
Outsiders have never really understood why we hate each other here and possibly never will. The irony here being that its the one thing we do have in common...the ability to laugh at ourselves and everyone else in equal measure.
Some wanna take it personal, then thats their problem. However...more recent events have sorta taken over...non political. Local girl round here was beaten very badly by a gang of 20...its all over the news here after their identities were plastered all over facebook and the police are appealing fer no reprisals knowing full well whats gonna happen next...the attack was so brutal that both sides have condemned it. My wee girl knows the wee girl who got beaten too...the videos of it were absolutely shocking and Im not easily shocked...puts a lotta things into perspective ^

Health to enjoy and peace go with ye m8...Im just bitter and spiteful over the past and have a chip on me shoulder with the establishment. It wouldnt normally bother me much to see it hurting them, just fate decided to make us the thorn in everyones shoe which is something I find absolutely hilariously delicious because we are set to win now no matter what happens. I like a good argument, but always in my experiance Politics and Religion burn the most oil when it comes to stoking hate and anger.
I personally think its a good thing that these are subjects non grata here.
The trouble with any forum is the rules... i prefer a place where anything goes, any language or expression that you like with no taboo, Bring your position and your brain and debait until its over. Finding a place like that isnt easy.
I used to post on a place called the Stile Project forum many years ago and i found it populated with some very smart people who enjoyed a good discussion without boundaries. It was a rare gem back then but unfortunately its pretty much gone and dead now.
I cannot recommend any new places to enjoy unfettered and unstifled political discussion... ive tried and ive been banned from them all.

Think I was about 9 or 10 when the Anglo Irish agreement was signed and the entire Unionist community turned on the very system they sought to preserve...thats a special sorta Norn Irn irony. A joke only a very few will get so apologies, but that was my first proper riot.
The farmers from the rural community had blocked all major roads with farm machinery and spikes so the brits couldnt use heavy vehicles to force them open. Our parents told us to get in front because if they hit a kid with the cameras watching, it would be a huge win fer us...what can I say? Ye dont say no to yer ma and da when yer 10 years old.
As it turned out our efforts were in vain cos they put a military order on no journalists and no cameras...no exceptions. I spent a week in a coma and woke up with 4 broken ribs and a cracked jawbone and eye socket fer an old atari 2600 me da had ¨acquired¨ and a big jumbo bag of my favourite sweets ever in the history of sweets...jelly babies.
I hated my dad fer a long time after that not because of the riot and the water cannon, although the dogs were the scariest thing cos they tried to use them to drag the kids like me away into their ranks, and they hurt like hell when they get a grip on ye.
No I hated him cos he ate me jelly babies cos I couldnt chew anything. Karma being that was the last I saw of him fer a year cos the peelers kicked the door in at 2 in the morning and dragged him out by the hair and beat him half to death in the front garden before taking him off fer a little holiday in one of her majestys hotels.
Along with that being one the happier memories in my sad little life, I also began a love affair with computer games...or rather the atari 2600 version of computer gaming, but well, things were a lot more simple back then ^

People dont want to know about what evil exists in this world...happy in their little bubbles. But it most certainly exists and ignoring it doesnt make it go away...makes it worse because those suffering are even more alone. How do ye complain to yer own government when its yer own government dishing it out? And they really do dish it out despite what those living in nice places tell themselves...this I know fer a fact having been on both the recieving end and on the dishing out end when I joined the army meself.
What this creates are people who arent moved by the most sickening violence...its normal and ye become accustomed to it. I can sit and watch someone getting beaten to death while thinking about the price change on an egg n bacon sarnie...while those living in nice places need two years of psychiatry to help them deal with what they saw.
As interesting and insightful as that interview was, I stopped listening entirely when they started talking about christianity. To me, all religion is poison including christianity...its banned in my house I simply will not allow it in any shape or form. If my daughter wants to have a faith, shes welcome to have it...when shes 18 and shes an adult and she can make her own mistakes, but when living under my roof, she abides by my rules.
Ive seen the damage done...by both sides. Been through an abusive system, the abusive and violent childhood, an abusive and violent conflict and dirty 30 year war...politics had its place certainly, but the root causes were always religion. Thats how our 500 year war originally started...christians fighting other christians...still ongoing to this day.
Evil? Oh theres evil in the world alright...and not all of it wears a towel on its head but people dont wanna hear things like that...theres enough to worry about what with that massive discount sale on at the weekend, and then the kids get their monthly allowance on friday...the fun never ends, right?
