Good luck to them I reckon. Seems a good sort having started Invictus when outed by the Sun for being in Afghanistan then travelling back, leaving mates behind but with a wounded colleague on de plane.

The idea of a President .. Tony Bliar !?? ... makes my skin crawl to be honest. Yet another politician and this time as head of state? No ta.

Will I be watching? Nope, weddings are for women and love for poets. Do I get it? Yeah, I get it.

If I were a British taxpayer, I would be furious that all this nonsense, basically a state-run, anachronistic de-luxe reality show would be financed on my expense.
Since I'm an outsider only, I only find it completely ridiculous.

Except with the exception of security, none of the money can from UK Taxpayers

Maybe the tourism and goodwill can offset the costs.
By Royal Weddings in the past, this one was modestly sized. Looks like the people that attended the event enjoyed it.

As an ex-colonial country, we generally hold the UK and her Royals in good regard here.

The British Royal family is actually a business that brings tourists to the country. The UK government just made an investment in that business, which probably paid far more in return.
