Horizons The Quince Trap!

While I wont be a condescending as some in this thread despite that you still wont care what I have to say but...

This is all info you could have found out before doing the missions. I did a very similar thing recently in the Aditi system. Same thing as quince but empire owned and closer to the bubble. Its still just 2 occupied systems with nothing else around it. I knew that after I did my scan missions that I would be wanted and would have to find an IF. I looked it up before hand. Its over 100ly but not as bad as Quince. Regardless. There is no "trap" you were not "tricked" you just forgot to check for an IF before you started illegal missions and got yourself into a bad situation. Could have been avoided or mitigated with better planning. Now you know though so it wont happen again.

Its a trap!

There are many things not thought out properly by the Devs.
Some of us get caught. Some don't.
Don't take it personally. The real idiots are here in the forums. Instead of helping their fellow players to enjoy the game, they just put st on anybody who makes a mistake.
I found 2 traps today. Luckily I didn't have to worry about distance.
And what's more, I aint gonna tell a soul! Let 'em find their own traps.

Well id like to thank the OP for thier PSA.

Im still out of the bubble heading back in so not had a chance to see the CP system in action.

I like going to places like Quince or its counter parts at the bottom and edge of the bubble more for long distance trade than anything else so yeah people still vist these systems, how does this effect smuggling is what Id like to know.

it sounds like rational discussion or conversation might not be the thing for you. maybe try twitter or, dunno, facebook?

In fairness, any chance of a rational discussion was DOA.

"I didn't bother to check the legality of my missions, nor did I bother to check where the nearest IF was before embarking on them. Clearly it's the game that's at fault" wasn't going to yield anything except ridicule anyway.

Not making a fool of himself in Quince?

While English is not my main language, I still believe that I can communicate in English very well, and did explaine my experience in Quince and opinion about it clearly. Having said that, and to reply to your intelligent comment, that’s the latest amongst the previous intelligent comments, what you’re saying is that you are a fool yourself, and actually every one playing this game is a fool. I bet you didn’t understand what I said being an intelligent high ranked contributor in this thread.

Well let me explain. Discovery is an essential part of the game, as well as making reputations with various factions, executing missions, making credits, etc... Got that part? Good.

So, what you saying is that a player who makes discoveries is a fool and who reports a bug or a glitch is a fool, isn’t that you and all players as well? Do you even play this game and know what I’m talking about Commander Perfect, top notch player?

If you consider my Quince experience foolish, well at least I have the balls to talk about it. I wonder how many times you made such foolishness? Yea, keep it to yourself better, cuz you d man :)

It's not a bug, it's not a glitch, and it's not a trap. You screwed the pooch, Commander. It happens. Live with it, learn from it, stop obsessing over it.

Well still have few minutes before going to bed to reply to Mr. Perfect the Second... i.e Mr. smart perfect.

While planetary missions will state in the brief that they may be considered illegal, they are not in many systems. In many systems I did planetary missions without being wanted. This is why I called it a trap. So, once again I wonder also if you even play this game to find the issue DOA to start with!

I don't think I've even been to Quince.
And I have billions of credits and got my rank-locked ships the "hard way".

What am I missing?

Sounds like you just didn't prepare well.

Well buddy, already did, moved to another sys, making good credits and living a happy galactic life, even forgot about this post, but some contributors as you can see still insist on thriving this discussion with their helpful intelligent comments. Can’t resist not answering them.

A bit of intel you might find useful, if by "planetary mission" you mean a Planetary Scan Job (PSJ). It is very easy to tell if the scan will be illegal. If it's a Private Data Point, it will result in a bounty. Always, everywhere, no matter any other circumstances. The only other type is a Public Data Point, and those are free and clear to scan and scoot, no bounties. Knowing this, there is no possibility of a "trap." But learning the ropes can be a bit bumpy at times.

If you are interested I can also describe the four types of PSJ sites, and which have Private and which have Public DPs, so you can identify them while airborne, before even grounding.

Everybody but you makes 300 mil/hour but they never used a gold rush exploit and they will never tell you how. Doesn't matter because they don't need it anyways, they already have billions and all the ships purchased. Its only you that doesn't have billions.

At least that's how its always been presented to me.

Wait... did you say billions! Let’s forget about Quince now and talk about how you made your billions?
 :)

I did a bunch of the Palin fetch missions, but honestly didn't relog.
Same for a few Smeaton runs, often while cooking dinner, lol.
I did some of the skimmer missions a while back, not the most recent ones,

All of those were purposely added content/changes per the patch notes that eventually got nerfed, so I don't consider them exploits.
Ymmv.

If you can finish them quickly wing assassination missions still pay pretty well, as do scan, passenger and skimmer missions.
You just can't stack more than 5 of the skimmers now.

If I ever start an alt account for this game, I am absolutely going to name it CMDR SmartPerfect.

Thank you buddy for info... I guess we missed the golden days after the extensive nerfs. Yes we can still make billions now, but I guess it will require dedicated days and weeks. Oh well, it is what it is.

I went to Ceos again with my Big Belly, the name of my Type 9, and fitted it all with economy passenger cabins. If you make sufficient reputation with factions there, you can make around 8 to 10 millions from Sirius atmosphere sightseeing missions in Sothis, approx. every 15 minutes. If you get bored, outfit it for trading, for about 4 to 6 millions missions between both systems, and so on. Slow, boring but couldn’t find better so far.
