News Elite Dangerous: Beyond - Chapter Two Release Date

Dammit Fdev!
I'll be sitting out for 3.1, unfortunately, to hone my skills in my A-10C Warthog (gotta pass my Advanced Aircraft & Tactical Training Qualifications) and explore Eve Online's new exploration content.

There's no answers for the PP debacle they've created and no information on Carriers they mentioned.

Simply put 3.1 is...

Where was I blaming anyone for losing fun in the game? And what do you mean that you are all not like me?

Okay that came out a bit more blunt then intended, sorry.
You said that it was due to my expectations, or the items I wanted in the game but not coming, was the reason of me losing interest in the game.
It's not just me, there are a lot of people who ask or hope for the same items as I do, is it my fault or theirs when we lose interest when those items don't show up?
Look, I'm not trying to tell FD how to make their game, but no one else can tell me that it's my fault I don't like what they're making.
Just as much as it's not my fault I don't like peanut butter :)

Not at all, but you should also understand for every person that doesnt like it there is one that does. So its somewhat unfair to chastise FDev simply because it doesn't appeal to you, but does appeal to alot of others.

As a mission lover, I again implore the Devs to give non-wing missions much more *love*.....& no I don't mean bigger credit payouts. I mean more variety in mission location types, mission complications & the mission chains that can be triggered. That is what would draw me back from Skyrim & The Inner Sphere.

Yes boo! 3.1 doesn't have either of the things they said might happen in 3.4...

Looking forward to 3.1! Well, if I can pull myself away from JWE ;)

Sounds interesting. Especially the missions part for the Tech Broker. Looks like they do listen.

Also WHERE IS THE KRAIT.
Opening few seconds. Does a sexy set of rear thrusters count as a Krait tease? I think it does!

Also, Challenger... Really? What's next, the Centurion? Apparently the Royal Armory owns Lakon.

I'm not chastising FD, at least that's not my intention, I just state the two roads FD and I are on used to run parallel for a long time but they're starting to seperate more and more from eachother.
No one's fault just a fact, one which I regret deeply because ED does have a lot of good stuff too.
Some say ED is a mile wide and an inch deep, I'd keep it at 45meters deep but that's where my diving license ends, besides that decompression is boring, just like the grinds added to most new content.

Too many loose ends, the Salome incident from April 2017, didn't two of her allies escape? Where are they?, storyline unresolved. What ever happened to the wizened Rebecca? What has become of INRA after the genocide attack on the Thargs. No new information on the Guardians, Raxxla is rarely mentioned. The Sirius Corp are a suspicious bunch, always there or thereabouts, and now a previously unknown group assassinating descendents of INRA members, another story line maybe doomed to fizzle out. Some great story lines, but all die out before a conclusion is reached. FD need a storyline plot writer, I often wonder why Drew and FD went their separate ways PS: I have said this before but Aegis=INRA :D

New Ship: Challenger
The Alliance continue to refine their warships in the face of the looming Thargoid threat. The Alliance Challenger, envisaged as a frontline combat vessel, has stronger armour than its Chieftain counterpart and will be able to soak up a significant amount of punishment.

YACCS - Yet Another Combat-Centric Ship

Looks good FDev. Like the plans for more wing missions too. Thanks again. I was wrong(but pleasantly surprised again) about the announcement drop timing, but was right about a patch coming soon after the JWE release, haha.

Ship looks great, "challenger" decent name ,and like how it ties into the thargoid storyline. And who knows, maybe the new ship will be more multi-purpose capable also. Seems we're back from the low of the cusp and sloping upwards again on the game mood cycle :)

Whatever happened to "sooner than expected"???

More like "just in time for the very, very end of Q1" (assuming no further delay).

the mining update is Q4 if I remember right

Couldn't agree more. Although it's nice seeing the Alliance getting their own ships, there is already an abundance of combat and multi-role ships. There needs to be more purpose role ships; such as mining, exploration, etc...

One ship role there needs to be more of in particular are exploration ships that are purely designed for exploration in mind. <1% of the galaxy has been explored since release. Exploration ships should ideally have a much greater jump range. The exploration community is growing larger and larger, yet there are fewer than a handful of ships that can jump over 50ly when engineered.

Interesting, just a few points!

I wonder if there will be a Beta of this?
Where did the Krait go? Is this now the Challenger?
It took me ages to unlock the guardian weapons, please tell me that if i've already unlocked the Plasma Charger and Gauss Cannon, that I get access to the Large variants without more grind... PLEASE! More game play, less grind to get there!

I tell you what i'd like to see with the thargoids, i'd like to rush to the aid of a station actually under attack. Whether in a fighter or rescue ship, think how exciting it would be to have a battle raging around the station while you protected the rescue ships or indeed were one of the rescue ships!

Just a few thoughts...

This so much this

...Replying to someone complaining about lack of trading missions ( somehow the quote went missing!?)

I did a 60 tonne mission yesterday for 1.5 mil and had room for another 190 tonnes of gold, so I guess they are still out there.
I find the trading mission filter helps finding those, be nice to have a destination filter that works like the commodities screen.

Check Shinrarta Dezhra; flew a two leg cargo delivery mission today, first jump=11M+ and second jump=5M. I fly a Cutter 720T cargo and always have at least two single jump missions between 3-8M. The high payout missions are sooo good I keep getting pulled off my goal to make Combat Deadly/Elite. And the bonus weekend for trading was just plain fun with 3M single jumps all over the place. Fly safe and high profits to all, o7.

So I was just thinking...Will said the Challenger is coming in 3.1, but the trailer shows the Krait instead. There are two possibilities here:

1. Both the Challenger and the Krait will be in 3.1 and Will just left it out of the update info.
2. Only the Challenger is actually coming in 3.1 and someone picked the wrong footage when showing the Krait's tail end in the trailer.

Makes me wonder, why show the Krait in the trailer but then not list it in the post? Does Frontier just love to tease their own players that much?

Imagine if when 3.1 goes live the Krait is nowhere to be found. What kind of salt would that harvest from the community?
