So it seems we have more nonmainstream dinosaurus, why Frontier?!

I honestly think you´re upset because of the wrong reason. If there´s a non well known animal in the game, that´s not bad at all. The only thing about the dinosaurs, that bothering me is the balance of the choosen Animals by Frontier. First I was worring, than disappointet, but today I am really upset about how many Possibilities were wasted. Don´t get me wrong people I am still thinking, that the game will be a huge pleasure to play, but the animal balance of this game is kinda bad. I mean ... Triceratops = Torosaurus = Pentaceratops = Chasmosaurus??? The only real difference between these is the size of their horns and Shields ... Einio or Pachyrhino would much, much better choices to show different animals of this kind, but frontier had to choose those ones ... I honestly do not understand why they made this decision. The List goes on ... Stegosaurus = Huayangosaurus = Chungkingosaurus, Gallimimus = Struthiomimus, Velociraptor = Deinonychus, Ankylosaurus = Nodosaurus = Polacanthus (the only exception to these is Sauropelta. It looks different indeed), Corythosaurus = Tsintaosaurus ... Let´s count all the wasted animals in the game ... 10 of 42. That meants they´re only a use for 32 Animals in the game (if there´s no new clon coming). And yeah 32 good dinosaurs of 42 aren´t that much of a huge disappointment, but even through it is very much of a frustration IMO. It´s like Mortal Kombat ... you got Characters that looks the same, but with different Colors ... :|

I don't really see this as a valid issue. These are actual animals that are related to each other. They are going to look and behave like each other too. It's the same way in real life. I'm not going to get mad at a zoo tycoon game with a battle nose dolphin exhibit and an orca exhibit, saying that an orca is just a bigger dolphin. Than would be silly because that's exactly what an orca is, a large dolphin. It's the largest in fact. I think this criticism is especially invalid when you mention Deinonychus, which altered in its appearance to differentiate it and Velociraptor.

Back to the point though, I don't think it's wrong to have a bunch of unusual dinosaurs. Most of the mainstream ones are already there. Don't complain about Chungkingosaurus like Stegosaurus isn't already in the game.

There are less mainstream dinosaurs than overall known dinosaurs in general. The public doesn't know about them. They don't get attention. Heck, you (OP) listed Muttaburrasaurus in there, despite it being in the widely popular Walking With Dinosaurs. How many people do you know that aren't decently versed with dinosaurs actually know what Giganotosaurus is?

We don't need lesser known animals. The iconic ones should all be in the physical standard copy of the game not DLC. I could care less about Muttaburrasaurus or Huayangosaurus. Just give the me iconic dinos.

You are getting tons of iconic Dinosaurs that were in the movies. Stop expecting to get stuff for free.

The only carnivore dinosaurs I want in this game that aren't already announced or probably in a Fallen Kingdom dlc are
the Acrocanthosaurus, a Tyrannosaur that is bigger than a normal size human and the Gasosaurus. For a Tyrannosaur I would
pick the Tarbosaurus (because it's found in Asia) but people would call the dinosaur, a variant of the Tyrannosaurus since
the species is nearly the same size as a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Guys, come on. Dinosaurs are dinosaurs. They're all awesome. JPOG gave us 25 dinos. This one's giving us over 40. And they all look great. I think Frontier is giving us a good balance of both mainstream dinos and lesser known dinos.

No, the whiners are never happy. This thread is reddit tier garbage whining and complaining. They never know when to stop. They just keep whining.

It's because we like free stuff and some games now cost sixty dollars. We just can't afford to pay dlcs sometimes since some games
have the habit of making too much paid dlcs. Not to be rude but that's honestly the truth.

Most of the general public and hard core gamer sure as heck don't know what Torosaurus, Maiasaura, and Mamenchisaurus are. So why can't Allosaurus be in the game?

If I could down vote this stupid post I would.

The Allosaurus will probably be in the JWFK DLC which is free. Stop whining.

First: Deinonychus > Velociraptor! Technically in JP and JW there is no Velociraptor because it is actually Deinonychus only named Velociraptor.

Second: Real Dinosaur Fans appreciate these different species. It does not matter if there are only small differences because its natural. These animals lived and personally I´m glad to see many dinosaurs that are not "main-stream". Also there maybe different preferences by different people. I like Deinonychus more than Velociraptor, Tsintaosaurus more than Corythosaurus and Struthiomimus more than Gallimimus. Personal taste ;)

There are far more species in the base game than in JPOG and probably more than in every other dinosaur game till now. And that is great, you should appreciate it. :)
And who knows... I think there will be more than one DLC with additional species.

Games cost money to develop. If you can't afford the games and expect them to give you content for free then maybe you shouldn't be playing games at all. Cause IMO it sounds like you have your priorities wrong. Raise yourself up financially till you can afford to support your hobby.

As it is there is obviously enough content in the game to cover the $60 price tag. That includes the free JWFK DLC. Anything else shouldn't be free.

Games have been 60$ for over a decade now. It's time to retire that excuse. If I can't afford a DLC, I don't buy it, or wait until I can. I don't come onto forums to complain about extra content costing money.

Not accusing you of doing that, just saying is all.

Sixty dollars still is a high price tag you know. A lot of people will buy this game and Frontier will probably make a lot of money
that they could use to make free dlcs. I have enough money to pay for dlcs but I still like free updates along with others. Because
I don't want to imagine seeing one of my favorite dinosaurs in a dlc. But I still will pay sixty dollars since I love Dinosaurs.....

I can see the point of have some unusual species of dinosaurs. H, and I even agree with it. However - the problem is - that it seems as if some mainstream dinosaurs are being forsaken for the more unusual species. Basically several well-known carnivorous dinosaurs have been sacrificed for more unusual herbivores which are very similar to other herbivores already in the game.

Why do we need - 3 very similar species from the same formation? Like we have with the Dashanpu stegosaurs (Chungkingosaurus, Gigantospinosaurus, & Huayangosaurus) or the Hell Creek/Lance Formation Pachycephalosaurs (Dracorex, Stygimoloch, Pachycephalosaurus)?

Or if they were going to go with all of these unusual & similar species - then why could we not at least up the number of species for the basic game to 40-45 species? That way they could have added in a few more carnivores, preferable some fairly well known species(like Albertosaurus. & Acrocanthosaurus).

Even though it shouldn't surprise me anymore, it still does. How are there people out there who have nothing else to do but waste their time by creating a forum account and then writing troll posts? I mean...how sad must your life be?

Well, I could say a bunch of things to counter that statement like Gaming companies have been earning
more than enough money to lower the cost, high salaries for certain employees or that these games have a
lot of buyers that would allow them to lower the price to fifty dollars. But to counter that, you could say reasons
like inflation, somebody decided to place a massive budget on games, high salaries and etc.

Anyway, back to the point, I think OP's complaint holds little weight. I think the most well known mainstream dinosaurs are already in the game. I see they meant to have two images, one for Allosaurus and the other for what I assume is Carcharodontosaurus. Allosaurus is already likely in the game with the JWFK DLC, and Carcharodontosaurus is less popular than Giganotosaurus, nearly identical to it, and is more like a "clone" than the stegosaurs and nodosaurs are, meanwhile they're getting the complaint treatment from many (probably because they're not carnivores).

I'm not in complete disagreement with you. Like, I don't think Chungkingosaurus and Dracorex are completely necessary. I would have went for Homalocepale for the latter, personally.

I don't agree with all of Frontier's dinosaur choices, but I'm not going to nag about it. It's still a good list of dinosaurs, and we're getting more with Fallen Kingdom. There will surely be more down the road as well.

Heck, for a second, I was worried we weren't getting Giganotosaurus.

I am glad we are getting the 37 dinosaur species we are getting. Yes I am a bit disappointed - that we aren't getting a few more carnivorous species. But I also realize that the Deluxe edition and Fallen Kingdom DLC will likely fix that issue(carnivore/herbivore species balance). If we are basically correct on our speculation of Fallen Kingdom species - we should end up with - 15 carnivorous species & 33 herbivorous species.

And I am still hopeful that future DLCs will take our dinosaur species list to at least 60 species(40 herbivores, 20 carnivores) - by the end of the year.

Yeah, I agree. I am currently satisfied with the amount of dinosaurs we are getting since I plan to get the Deluxe edition.
The free Fallen Kingdom dlc will make us even more satisfied with the Baryonyx, Allosaurus, Carnotaurus and the
Indoraptor possibly being in the free dlc.
