No sleeping or herding behavior confirmed

On the current AMA.

Basically confirmed there's NO sleeping unless tranqed or malnutrition and "herding" is some scripted group behaviours rather than the animals walking around in herds

Very disappointing. So it's a waste of time me creating a herd of Struthiomimus because they're just going to wander off on their own rather than stick together in a group, move around in a herd.

Even JPog had basic sleeping and herding animation.

The dinosaurs are gonna be very dull to watch given their complete lack of interaction with each other, the repetitive slow fights and poor hunting animations.

I just made the same thread. Maybe a moderator can delete mine and I will just post my text here.

So this game has a simplified park building sim with only 3 attraction the most basic buildings and so on. I always thought and was told that this is due to the fact, that the main focus of this game are the animals. But since today we now that those animals only have a basic AI with no proper herding behaviour, sleeping etc.
I also thought that with all the genetic modification focusing on the attack and defend stats of the animals, that the fighting would be a major feature of this game. Since the recent gameplay reveals I know, that the fighting is just basic and simple round based, scripted one on one combat with no pack hunting or fighting to be in sight.
So that is where I have to ask, what is now left in this game? We don't have a full on park building simulator nor do we have a realistic "dinosaur zoo" simulation.
Maybe some of those things will come later on during this or next year, maybe Frontier should be a little clearer when it comes to their roadmap. But for now, I don't see any justification to pay 60€ for this game.

Thats crazy bad. Im tempted to say lazy from Frontier. The sleep thing, okay i can live without that. But no herds, just robotic herbivores wander off on ther own. Man that is a huge letdown.

But im still looking positivt forward to the game. With enough feedback from the Community i have faith in them to fix AI later.

Weird since the guys that played the game last week said there was hearding.

Judging by the reddit post the "herding" they are talking about will look like this:
maxresdefault.jpg

3-4 Dinos coming randomly together and start "communicating".

But the herding people really wanted and expected is this:
Jurassic-World-Evolution-herd.jpg

Raptors don't hunt in packs either.

And only visitor attractions are viewing platform, gyrosphere and monorail.

I wish I hadn't read this AMA. .. it's killing my hype

That seems like a weird choice, especially since JPOG had them sleeping. Even dinos need to sleep!

and "herding" is some scripted group behaviours rather than the animals walking around in herds

Disappointing. I hope they'll fix this later on. To me it doesn't seem too complicated to make them move in herds or hunt in packs.

They said they will be working on it after release, at least working on the feedback,

Bo also responded to an identical question about herd behavior, confirming the dedication animation thing, but she also said that they will move together. This can be seemingly confirmed with at least the sauropods, which in recent game play they've shown to stick close to each other. It's hard to gauge herding though because the enclosures we've seen thus far are rather small.

That's not me justifying this though. I expect post-launch updates to update the herding behavior. Among a few other issues.

Is this all you people are going to do is sit around and whine and complain about game you haven't played yet? People from yesterday and before said there was herding.

Also don't rely on Reddit. Reddit is garbage cancer and filled with nothing but a bunch of professional whining and complaining basement dwellers. All they do is sit over there and whine and complaint about the game nonstop and if they don't have a reason to do it they make one up. Like currently they are whining about how the Spinosaurus is too small. Cause they are all stupid and don't know what forced perspective is.

Read for a let down.

No herding behavior... I mean, come on, /that was like a key part in the film's.

its a shame but they did say in a reply to someone asking about here is the question that someone asked - I've noticed there's been a fair few people disappointed over at /r/jurassicworldevolution about the lack of some of the finer behaviours, such as a lack of sleeping, fluent attacking, and other similar details which, while don't impact the park building aspect of the game particularly much, do a lot for immersion and keeping the dinosaurs interesting. While I imagine the focus on future updates will be on new content, is it possible that new updates could also include AI updates? -

and this reply shows that stuff like sleeping and better hurding and attacking may be updated more later on here is frontier's reply to that question - We feel like we've already improved a great deal compared to what a lot of people saw in the March build - it's definitely something that we'll continue to look into after launch. If only a day had 45695692 hours!! - so hope no one rules out those things beeing updated in later well hopefully.

How is it unfinsihed? sleeping isn't something that was ever advertised, even in the march build there was no rest bar.

Cause people like to whine about stuff that was never promised. Like how the game doesn't look exactly like that one trailer where the Rex steps on the Jeep. Cause all games in the past have looked and played exactly like their advertisements. This is the first game in history not to do this. lol
