It wasn't me. Tuub t Tute made me do it. [hehe]

Oh you think those spotty toxic geeks would actually kill Derek or other dissenters? lol come on! The only thing they are killing is their blood sugar.

If two or three banded together and sat on him they might. Or they could get the mark to stand at the bottom of a hill and roll Ben Lesnick down onto him - if they could find Ben's underground layer out East, that is, and tempt him out with doughnuts.

Anyway, I've been re-watching old SC vids recently, featuring Sandi (interviewed by Nichole d'Angelo with a guest appearance from Chris!!!), Chris himself (attempting to play his own game on the Christmas livestream, and discussing angular momentum with Richard Garriot) and "Dennis", Disco Lando dressed as Santa (I think - it was maybe a confused old wino who'd wandered in, Trading Places-style) and some other tech dude.

YouTube is a fine repository of all that is weird and wonderful about this project, that's for sure.

In the west if you don't know a combination of Muay Thai and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu then you are raw meat on the street. Fact!

As this is wildly OT, I'll just remark that you clearly live in a very different street. Or century. Or both. And with that I've had my Tough Guy Internet Discussion for the day.

The guy who made the video that got him and his family death and threats didn't know this was going to happen to him? Give me a break. Derek Smart has clearly exposed the community over the last few years. I find it hard to believe that anyone would take a death threat from a Star Citizen moron seriously. I mean come on, non of them have any Jiu Jitsu skills, and their Muay Thai is non existant. Talk about felines.

The guy's kid was threatened, that's what sent it over the line.

Surprise, surprise, I can see it in your eyes....

Network Bind Culling got postponed again (I think, it was one of the longest rambling statements ever) :)

Oh, and FPS AI on planets etc too.

Oh, colour me surprised as well.

How long before they move mining back?

How long before they move mining back?

They did reaffirm that mining is still in, but that it will only be surface mining. I.e. no mining of asteroids. And the only ship that will be able to mine is the Prospector.

Mining is also the focus of the Evocati testing, at least according to the leaks. So mining, in some form, will most likely be there.

Few years back(2014/15) when I was arguing how difficult is going to be "fixing"the netcode and making SC possible to work as MMO in this broken engine some "citizens"wanted to tear me apart....honestly back then I believed that by this time it will be somehow possible to have maybe 30-40 players per instance.......Those guys called me Hater&Goon for saying that net-fix going to take that long...heh seeing that from this perspective I was actually an OPTIMIST......

One thing is for sure, sooner or later (around 2045) Chris Roberts will have to take a dump or leave the pot.

Until that day:

Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the Aurora pledge not goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the 20k train not goin' anywhere
A backer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a pledge they can share the 800i
It goes on and on, and on, and on

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Pledging people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Pledging people

Ship packs waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their backers pledging in the night
Streetlights, people
Living just to find a scam
Pledging somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my pledge
Everybody wants a pledge
Pledgin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the SC blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on, and on, and on
Strangers waiting

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Pledging people ...

Lol nope. This network implementation isn’t going to be fixed. Ever.

The entire architecture and implementation needs to be ripped out and replaced with something fit for purpose. CIG have repeatedly demonstrated that they don’t have the skills in-house for this kind of work. They need to buy something in, which will then of course need all their existing work revisited to make it compatible - if that is even possible.

This just goes to show that, when designing a Vision for a Multiplayer GAEM - you absolutely must have a scaleable and suitable architecture in place and operational before you waste any time faffing about reworking shiny ship jpegs.

Approx minute? Asking for a friend scared to have to watch it all...

This is when spending more than half a decade not having ANY kind of plan on how they'll handle multiplayer really starts to pay off.

It turns out Chris Roberts burbling some utter nonsense about hundreds or thousands of players doesn't actually equal a plan!

At least he has a solid grasp of physics as per his convo with Garriott!

Oh wait....

This is completely normal and to be expected in a project of such vast uhhh...vision....and fidelity. You see they had a choice between gameplay people might or might not enjoy, and content that people could pay money for. The choice is obvious, and backers should applaud them for their... uhhh... Bravery! In pushing back on accepted norms of game development in order to keep the dream alive through a new funding initiative.

So, they've postponed the FPS AI work as well. Which suggests that claims the Squadron 42 was almost ready but being kept 'secret' are rather optimistic.

I'm glad they delayed the FPS AI, last time they showed something it looked like Green Army Men swivelling around while shooting at all and sundry. A proper embarrassment for the quality expected from this game.

Funny as hell tbh.

Which is why I was hoping they'd release ... not sure we've had anything as good as the wheels falling off that time on the ramp.

We need some fresh material other than the entirely usual delays and bee esss excuses!
