Weights aint much use fer losing weight, but they are used when building muscle...which they are very good at but at the point where you are now, ye simply wont feel the benefit until ye start shedding pounds, and weights alone aint gonna help with that.

Me, Ill just drive ye into the middle of nowhere, take yer phone, yer wallet and wish ye safe travels and cya at home in about 4 hours. Not outta spite although ye will think that long before Im done with ye. Voluntarily committing yerself is cool, but not having a choice is even better cos if theres an easy option to take, ye will gravitate more towards easy and make excuses to yerself to help justify it.

Losing weight isnt easy, but its not impossible...end the day it comes down to willpower. Change yer eating habits...have a m8 smack ye in the gob and bust yer lip...ye wont eat after that. Thats assuming ye dont have the willpower to do it yerself, so get others to help...and take music when yer breaking a sweat cos music with a beat helps yer mind focus on what needs to be done.

Or join the army...and learn from first hand experience what carrying a telegraph pole between 5 guys fer 8 miles feels like at a forced march in full combat fatigues. Course this was back in the day when if ye fell behind, they simply hooked yer 80lb backpack to a landrover and simply dragged ye until ye started walking again...times have changed now so yer gonna have to go private to get this same treatment in this carebear society we live in...and sign waivers to say ye fully understand what the term ¨beasting¨ means.

Its like training someone with a stick...they slow down, ye hit them...hard enough to hurt. More they slow down, the more ye hurt them...come out with me and ye will hate me with a passion and hate me more than ye ever hated anything in yer life...but Id transform yer shape in 3 months.

My best m8 used to be 26 stone, worked as a nightclub bouncer who got destroyed just climbing the fire escape...could handle himself but was slow and easy to get away from. 3 months...now 17 stone and built like the Rock...but at the cost of a very strained friendship at times. In saying that, he cheated a bit and took certain drugs to quash his appetite, but it worked nonetheless.

Brace yerself unicorn...cos its gonna hurt even if ye take the easy options...but ye know its an issue now and thats the first stage of fixing the problem...recognizing the fact ye have a problem...good luck m8 and all the best hope ye sort it ^

One thing i will suggest is not going on a "diet". Your body will need energy to exercise, and conversion of fat to energy is slow and inefficient. Fat is designed to keep us warm and help us through winters where food is scarce. Fat is your body doing its job, but if you don't live healthily then it builds up.

So, eat normally, but healthily, but don't try and starve your body. Lots of water of course so you don't feel as much like snacking while between meals.

But the only real cure is exercise. Baby steps, and build up.

2 - Forget extreme / drastic diets. Extreme diets, not only may endanger your health, but you'll most likely give up after a while (like pretty much almost everybody who tried exteme diets, usually after some new year resolution or similar).

This is the best advice you will get from anyone.

OP you know what you have to do.
Get off your butt every day.
Build the habit.
It'll suck, but then it won't.
We can't do it for you.
The first steps are yours to take.
What are you waiting for?
Turn off the damn comp & TV and go.
Go now.
Go every day.
Rain or shine.
Or you're dead.

As a bonus your self-loathing will diminish with your weight.

Theres so much contradicting and wrong information here. I see they are well intended but peeps just dont realise its actually dangerous to talk without proper knowledge really.

Your problem OP is, Im quiet certain your bodily systems cant handle your weight. On top of that I am certain you are suffering from problems you are unaware of their existance, such as but not limited to; faults in eyesight, possibly mild to severe steatorrhoeic hepatosis aka fatty liver (NAFLD to NASH considering ita not new) that also chains into a whole damn mess of problems like oh god forbid cirrhosis, an overstressed heart and overwhelmed circulatory system and also quiet certainly an overwhelmed underperforming and weakened anti oxidant defence system leading to a load of core issues such as creating a foundation for serious organ diseases in time and currently, causing atheroscloresis through high LDL levels. You are also possibly on a pathway you cant realise, going towards diabetus mellitus type 2 due a developped insuline resistance. You are or might already be suffering its symptoms such as poliphagia, polidypsia, poliurea, hard to focus foggy eyesight, dry skin getting tored off and general feeling of being tired etc etc. All these stuff is a tied up bundle and is simply all tied to bad eating habbits and being overweight.

What you need to do in your immediate future is to get to medical assistance, see a dietetian and follow their instructions to get specific blood analysis done and follow their instructions as they will put you through a diet program that will be tailored for your situation and needs. You'll need to stick to it with all your willpower very strictly and youll be loosing approx 1 to 2kg (thats like what 2 to 4 pounds?) a week and youll start covering for most of the serious issues and the lack of some nutritions to bring your owerwhelmed systems back online. A year or so later you will make a decent progress and possibly drop below 100kg and you would have fixed most not if all health risks. Only at that point onwards you can go stick yourself to doing weightlifting or jogging. Let go of trying to build strenght or doing sports without guidance at this point, there are matters that require your immediate attention as far as I can tell from here and its actually VERY risky to hit the roads or gym like this. Even forcing yourself to walk too much is dangerous it might at best lead to meniscus or chondromalacia patella or other patellaferomal pains and issues due overloading your legs and knees with too much stress due weight. Srsly mate, do it as soon as possible right now or youll end up seeing yourself having to do that involuntarily sometime in the future if you know what I mean.

Bonus edit: Everyone please discard specific advises from anyone whos not a professional, like "cut on this, eat this" or "do this exercise every day". I'm even seeing absolutely massively wrong advices like cutting off dairy or a nutrition group like carbohydrates alltogether off your diet...

Best thing to do is go to your Doctor and explain what you'd like to achieve and then you can work on it together.

Atkins works. Eat as much protein and fat as you want. NO CARBS . No sugar, no breads, no fruit. Then walk a little. In a pool would be best. Less stress on the joints.

I am so glad that you are going to make an appointment! Kudos to you for your frankness and courage. Sometimes It's really really hard to address personal issues, if more people had your willingness and receptivity, it would be a much happier world.

Anyway I don't know if you know the youtuber Boogie2988. He is into gaming and in fact he is at E3 right now. Boogie had a much worse weight problem than you; at one time he was over 500 pounds. With medical help and sheer strength of stubbornness he has managed to lose a ton of weight. However, he is still very overweight and continues to fight to stay healthy. This trip to E3 was the first time he was able to travel unassisted. I find him to be very inspiring. Boogie has had a very tough life, yet despite it all he is very successful with over 4 million subscribers. Anyway, you might find his story inspiring, too.

Make yourself reasonable goals for losing weight and building stamina. Just remember to keep pushing yourself to meet those goals. You've admitted there's a problem so you're over the first hurdle.
My first suggestion is making those stairs your **expletive**!

Kick some 455 CMDR! I'm cheering for ya!

Everytime you feel hungry, drink water, a lot of water, eating fiber with zero calories is also good in combination with this.
the problem is that you will not feel more energized until you lose a lot of fat. Fat is stored surplus of energy, sugar, carb, and other nutrition your body can't use when it was digested. However there is only one way, burn the fat by excising.

Skip the weights, just stop curling donuts and beers. Walk around your neighborhood block once per day to start. Get a dog, then WALK YOUR DOG every day. Take LONG walks with your dog. Dogs love to walk. Your dog will out-walk you any day of the week guaranteed, no matter how much you improve your health. Take half of a multi-vitamin, like a Centrum each and every day (including weekends).

Doctors recommend diet AND exercise for a reason. It's not diet OR exercise, it's diet AND exercise. It does no good to exercise if you follow up with 3 bowls of Sugar-Jacks or a couple of sandwiches. Switch to diet soda if you are a soda drinker (Diet Dr. Pepper makes it easier to switch). Switch from whole to skim milk (or even better, water) if you are a milk-drinker. Why eat vegetables? Screw the nutrition, you eat vegetables because they FILL YOU UP. Eat all the celery you can cram down your neck and learn about the glycemic index BEFORE you get diabetes and have to start shooting up insulin 5 or 6 times per day. Lose 150 pounds BEFORE you suddenly drop dead of a heart attack and leave your mom alone in the world. Never eat a piece of meat larger than the palm of your hand. Never eat more than HALF a potato at any meal.

Go train jiu jitsu. Eat vegan. What I mean is only shop in the fruit and veg section. Forget about sugar and bread too. Attempt to do body weight exercises. Pull and chin ups. Push ups. Body weight squats until you improve. Burpees and finally get a bike and cycle for an hour every other day. Eventually you'll be able to run. Possibly in 6 weeks if you are consistent.
