LEP Holders should just throw them in the bin, they are worthless, Frontier got what they wanted ie: £££. Just look at the original kickstarter promises and look at the game now, its NOTHING like what was promised and now with what seems like a 'skeleton staff' working on the new updates it's turning into a joke.

I'm sure most of the buyers of the last 2 years have got their moneys worth from the game and cannot really moan, however the original kickstarters, people who put hundreds of pounds into the game, well they were scammed big time and perhaps they should get together and sue Frontier for Fraud.

The only kickstarter promise was a mac version which they got. It will be discontiued though when the Q4 update hits. As to tjhe skeleton staff, do you work there?

Where do you get your info from?

I think you guys are overreacting to strawmen of your own creations rather than my actual position. On the basis of your responses the sensible path to follow would be to seek a refund for content not yet delivered. I don't see it that way, but it would be good to clear it up.

That's not how refunds work.

That would make sense.

I believe Frontier entertained the possibility of refunds to macOS commanders who has purchased lifetime expansion pasts.

Because they dropped mac support so no further content for mac players. They haven't dropped support for the rest of the games platforms though so it's an invalid comparison.

I would have thought that's precisely how refunds work, asking for money back for undelivered product.

I think the issue here is the they bought the LEP knowing that it was undelivered and that it will be delivered in the future (hence the word Lifetime Expansion Pass). As there is nothing to suggest this won't happen I fail to see how anyone can ask for a refund.

The only time they can do this is if the game stops being developed and the LEP owners don't get their moneys worth. This hasn't happened yet. So I see no reason why FDev would give anyone refunds.

They already got a load of falk by announcing when an annoucement will be made, so I don't expect that to happen again. As they will be at Gamescom I suggest looking there for some.

Personally I have no issues. Waiting a month or not is not going to make any difference to the game, whether I play it at the moment or whether I will buy the expansion or not.

Yes, they did take flak before, which I think was unfair. They seemed be able to lay out their plans for Beyond carefully and clearly, explaining the four drops, their relative sizes, whilst providing almost no detail without any issues or upset, so I remain disappointed that they haven't chosen to do the same with the DLC.

Assuming (hoping) FDev do have some shiny to show at Gamescon, and if that is to be an update or reveal on DLC content, then what's the harm with them trailing that here, in their own forum? 'Watch out for us at Gamescon where we'll be revealing some details about upcoming DLC.' There, not difficult at all!

There maybe lots of reasons why not. They may have sold the announcement to a magazine (this does happen), so the magazine gets the chance to spill the beans first and increase sales of said magazine. This is one example.

It's just hype management 101...

The marketing department is to get as many people as they can interested in the game at the time it is released, but the public can also get turned off if they get an information overload. If the interest in the game peaks too early, that translates directly to lost sales.

FDev have used conventions as the main launch point for hype cycles. Announce... manage info drip feed cadence... deliver content to peak interest (ideally). That's the general aim.

Like last year, FDev have a trade/press stand at Gamescom, not a public one.

A gamescom livestream would be very nice of course

I have the LEP.

What have I received that those who do not have LEP did not get?

What you have received so far, that non-LEP owners have had to pay for separately:
  • Horizons
  • Access to all Horizons Betas
  • Many Black Friday paintjobs (all Horizons pre-orders up to Dec 2015)
  • Access to Cobra Mk4 (all Horizons purchases up to Feb 2016)
You will also get the upcoming Premium Content (details unannounced as of yet) and future expansions and Betas

Oh get over yourself. We know what they've been releasing for the past year+ and it's not even close to the standard of quality or quantity you'd expect from a company that size. Even the hardcore ED fanboys will make excuses for lack of communication and delayed releases on the grounds that "they're probably really busy with Jurassic World right now."

If it's not a stripped-down skeleton crew of rookie programmers and part-timers then it's a dedicated full crew of actual dead guys. Everyone else in the industry does more with less than Frontier has. Hello Games is 16 people. Zero Gravity Games is 6 people. Rockfish is around 20. I-Novae looks like it's around 6. Double Damage games is two people. Unknown Worlds is 20. Etcetera. But the dedicated dev team for ED is "over 100". Yeah, OK.

Fortunately, as time goes, in a few months we'll know everything we want, truly soon. If not in an expo, in any games con in summer-autumm.

Doesn't worth evolv this discussion in something more emotional or personal, when almost everyone has some degree of good reasons.

OP. I'm afraid you're too early to start making demands. There's another 5+ months left in 2018 for paid content to be announced / released.
