Community Event / Creation ***Attention Explorers*** GNOSIS Jumps planned THROUGH a permit Lock !

Keep checking different systems and after about 10 to 15 checks they become System Map Unavailable.

Edit: Nope that's not it.^

Probably a noob question from someone who usually doesn't go Open: Does the Gnosis in Open have the same limits as any other outposts? I ask cause someone right now asked me to dock so he could dock. I was properly docked (just logged in) so what was he talking about? Confused...

You got put into the same instance as him. You "spawned" into an empty landing pad as he was on approach to land.

I'm not sure I understood the question, but the Gnosis is the same in open as in other modes, and similar to other megaships.

I has few landing slots though, maybe that's why the dude asked you to undock so he could dock.

So works like any other outpost - in general. The other solution is one of the player goes to Solo (which I did in this case). But isn't that a bit impolite to ask someone to undock or switch mode where it would be so easy to do the latter just themselve?

You're breaking their immershun man, u got no heart? ..... :D

Cone Sector showing as locked for me too. Tried logging out an in again, and restarting. No change, still locked.

Even tried switching from Solo to Open, just in case FDev was taking the "let's get everyone into Open" thing entirely too far. Nope, locked in Open too.

Does the fact that the Cone Sector FN-J B9-0 system being suddenly being permit locked after the update mean the trip is off??

I was hyped for this. For me the trip happening shortly after an update got my conspiracy detector ticking. Add to this the fact that Frontier even mentioned the trip in an email newsletter, I was certain that the trip was going to go ahead, now it looks like it's a no go :(

I see a few other people also seeing permit lock on the system, does anyone have any news on this?

I also note that slightly further into the locked zone it is still unlocked. Looks like Frontier have increased the thickness of the barrier to prevent a jump *sigh*

Given that - as you say - it was in the newsletter, I'm sure they'll sort it out.

Just logged in myself as of 7 PM EDT and confirmed permit locked. There's an NGC system that's permit locked as well. I believe that may get repaired on this Thursday's update.

EDIT: BTW, that NGC system that's locked is NGC 2264 Sector (in case anyone was checking).

We don't know. FDev didn't tell us anything was going to change and they've been promoting the trip so I suspect this was unintentional. We've reached out to find out what's going on. When we know, you'll know.

This is forgivable if it's an accident. If it isn't then it's a great way to draw the community's ire. [mad]

It is what it is. Anything is an adventure with an open mind. New permits appeared.... it happens in real life, it happened in our fictional universe too. Isn't that intriguing?

I am going to assume it was a mistake

In which case just to reconfirm

I need to be on the Gnosis on the 6th not Tomorrow correct?

That's correct. The jump tomorrow is to Outotz ST-I d9-4 which is still reachable from the bubble. That system is the last opportunity to join the Gnosis before it jumps to the Cone sector on Sept 6th.

I believe with latest planetary scan capability, if there is a POI on the planet such as a Guardian Ruin/other, I believe it is noted in the HUD? Thus if explorers honk a system, then scan each planet, the planetary scan could reveal a POI...at least I think it now works that way? No more need to eyeball planets for POIs...

Wait is this true? I'd be pumped.. might even boot Elite back up.. which is currently turned off indefinitely until module limit is restored to the point where outfitting isn't broken/unusable.

Cheers as I could see myself getting the date wrong and arriving late

Looks, you are right. It looks also, the expedition right now takes an interesting turn :)

Just checked it. The first WP in the Cone sector is not locked, but all the systems around it are.

The station is warping there, not your ship.

Doubt your ships permit lock has any relevance.
