The Star Citizen Thread v9

Of course! CR would never infringer on the IP rights of another entity!
They sure wouldn't. But their FoIP rights? That's fair game, that is.

Funnily enough, I was just curious to whether this was well know, and one explanation was "Failure Of Initial Purpose". Google is doing my job for me these days...

Dev: Build!!!

I cracked up at that point.

Not because of CIG/SC either, its something i could see a build developer screaming when something doesn't build.

I was at a dev company the other day with my business and was waiting on the guy doing a build, that just wouldn't build. I could almost see the vein throbbing in his head, he was close to exploding i'm sure. Took him half an hour to get the build going.

You obviously don't understand build development.

Can confirm. I've rebuilt code with no changes, the only difference that I said "woooooooooork DAMNIT!" During the build process.

Anticitizen #1 is at it again. Claiming "internal source" and rumouring mass exodus. This can only mean that SC is nearing the completion of major milestones and many contracts are running out.

Just noticed the schedule for Ccon.

Chris is going to have a 2 hour slot to open.

And they wanted people to pay to listen to this?

I can summarize: Gib monies plz!

EDIT: Wow, its all back to back as well, when are backers meant to take a break from the sales pitch?

Also one of those talks in the second hall will take place when the first hall has already started. Will people make an exodus to switch halls? That will look funny if half the people get up and walk out. Perhaps they should have thought that one through a little better. Have it start at the same time and then you might get an influx in the other hall when the alternate one finishes.

From latest ATV, it has been stated that OCS will not be ready by October 10th.

Due to imposing deadline, and the fact the addition of new content requires such tech, Hurston and there rest of the game-world location content will not be present in Alpha 3.3.

Instead of pushing it back to Alpha 3.4, they'll do a follow-up patch to 3.3 branded 3.3.5, giving it the extra time it needs to be finished and polished up.

And while we're on the subject of the ATV, CIG has yet again invented a marvel of the modern age never before seen in space games - an "early potential mechanic for gameplay which is very much on their radar but not implemented yet", namely "exploration" and being able to *gasp* calculate how much fuel you're going to need to get from point A to point B in your jpeg spaceship.

Remember, space game development is super difficult, and coming up against unexpected requirements like knowing how much fuel you need to get somewhere can really throw a spanner in the works.

Is that a Photoshop screenshot?
