Elite Dangerous on Joe Rogan

Never heard of him. Is he another one of those imitation celebrities that only exist on the internet?

Am I the only one here that watched News Radio?

Good god, no. You should probably google people before you say something so disrespectful. Sorry, I admit I'm triggered cos I have a lot of respect for the man, please don't take this personally, or as an attack, it is not intended that way.

yet he praises elite for everything you see on the brochure but the game ultimately lacks. sounds a lot like paid advertisement to me. not good press for him in my book.

I'll share an opinion after I've watched it, it's been on my watchlist since it came out. Last night I watched this (see below) and as you can see, didn't have time for anything else! lol. I doubt his inaccurately bigging up the game without playing it is going to cause me to change my overall opinion of him. After all I never stepped into the octagon, yet I still talk about it sometimes, cos I'm a fight fan. I can hold my own in any discussion with other fans, but when you've lived it for years, it's something else. I bet I would sound ridiculously clueless to him, just like he does speaking of Elite, to us. :)

Actually Joe Rogan doesn't talk about it at all, his guest does and that goes by pretty quickly. There was nothing about it that sounded like paid advertisement to me. Was cool to see someone talking about how much he enjoyed it though.

yes, it also might be he just played shortly and that's his first impression, we all have been there. then again this would not put his game commentaries in a good light :)

we've already entered the age where if it isn't on the internet it doesn't exist, grandpa! [haha]

I agree with you there is no purchase in speaking on a subject you barely know, however, as I say, this wouldn't change my opinion of him as a real smart guy (especially for a fighter) with a good bead on the 21st century. Honestly.

It helps that he's 'my kind of people', we are cut from the same piece of wood, but I suggest that now you know of him, check him out, he rarely talks crap. Do you like the fight game? He has a lot to say about that of course.

And his guest (who does the talking) doesn't sound clueless - you can see he starts talking about how FD add storyline, then he pulls up with a <gonna lose the audience if I dive headlong into this> feeling :D

Agreed.
Years ago, it was easy to misjudge him as some meathead UFC commentator (as I did early on)
After you start listening to his podcasts, you realize he's a well-read guy, with some great insights and no nonsense attitude.
Plus he gets some really interesting guests to come on his show. :)

Yeah, I loved that show. The worst 2 things to come out of it though were Andy and Joe Rogan. Although, in all fairness I would say that Fear Factor was the thing that made Joe Rogan a "celebrity", just more reality TV junk.

Joe Rogan is a legend in my eyes, as a long time UFC fan, he fully rocks. Thats from the Eastside of the pond by the way.
I got a bit of time for Joe. First saw him through UFC and thought he was a bit of a cheeseball but lately been watching some of his radio interviews got a new found respect. He gets some good people on, bit of science/philospy, martial spors etc. He seems genuinely interested in a diverse range of topics and has an easy going engaging interview style. Not seen any of his stand up though, might give it a whirl and some point!

I have only seen one standup show from Joe, it was damn funny, especially the “Three power words” bit, well worth checking out imo.

I know this is a very controversial viewpoint, but maybe he just likes the video game.

Also a Joe Rogan fan, surprised we got this far without someone linking to the Elon Musk episode, 2.5 hours of interesting chat with Mr Space X that mostly went viral for the 10 seconds of joint smoking :)

Yep, just like all the other imitation celebrities who get long, exclusive interviews with the likes of (your boy) Russell Brand, Jay Leno (please tell me you Brits know who that is!), Neil deGrass Tyson, and Elon Musk on his show...

Tedious meathead who provides a easy to swallow gateway drug for cookie-cutter right-wing idiocy and conspiracy theories. But that's not nearly as bad as being an ATROCIOUS standup comedian. I mean, have you ever caught this guy's act? Phew. Truly the poet laureate of college dorm room bong hits.
