News Chapter Four - Exploration Reveal

As so eloquently has been described here:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ation-Reveal?p=7070676&viewfull=1#post7070676

There you'll find your very own definition of 'traveling'. I can't stop you of course calling this 'exploring'. But on that point I agree to not agree. :D
You were talking about 'explorers' and 'travelers'. Truth is, all explorers travel, so all explorers are travelers. Being in the explorer community for so long has taught me that it's silly to tell players who are venturing out, looking for discoveries, they're not explorers. Doesn't sit well with me.

But sure, if you feel the need to label players that way, I'm not going to stop you. Agree to disagree.

+1

And rather ironically, I mostly "travel" to find interesting systems along the way. The joy of that out of the black: "Whoa, this system looks cool. Going to have fun flying around and checking this out."

Definitely going to suck major space probes if that isn't really much of a thing anymore, obfuscated through a map mini-game.

Spoiler: I like going exploring in a Vulture; I'm definitely not in it for the "travel." I'm in it for the exploration.

Hopefully we will.be able to get a rough idea from the initial honk and scanner view before even discovering planets in the scanner.

Are people still doing the whole "pre-emptive destructive back-seat designing" thing. Is it really that hard to just wait a month or so for the beta? Or are people so hell bent on checking boxes on a potentially irrelevant wishlist, that they're really trying grab at the steering wheel with blind folds on? I am just hoping they don't actually land a finger and yank the bus into a ditch.

Not sure if all that was code for, "people expressing legitimate concerns based on provided information," or not, but I can say for certain that ditches can be rather nice to steer into upon occasion... :p

We know that Frontier have elected their feedback already and taken it, so at this point pre-complaints are just rehashing yesterdays ashes in tomorrow's coffee. Awesome nebula pic btw!!

It's from some of the screenshots I took yesterday from Veil West Sector DL-Y D68, D 4 F, -49.06, -82.08. Not sure if you saw the other one I posted in this thread a couple pages back as well...

I'm actually heading back there again now for another screenshot from there without my ship in it to use as a desktop background.

As a hobbyist volcano trekker, I can assure you that going into certain ditches, or holes, especially big, gargantuan holes on top of big, imposing, intimidating rock and ash piles is absolutely exhilarating.

Just so you know, I have contacted Amnesty International and informed them of the torturing of metaphors in your posts.

Have you heard of the marshmallow test? If I didn't know better, I'd say you were using aggression as a way to distract yourself from the intense curiosity while waiting for (hopefully) next weeks live stream. ;)

I have not :)

edit: Oh that, yes I have. Completely irrelevant.

So you're no longer chomping at the bit for livestreams + beta? I do assume that we all are it's true, but also because you said as much about half a dozen times already.

This particular thread is not an area for debate between community members – it’s fine to read what others have put, but try to ensure your posts are directed at us rather than your fellow posters.

...I can't wait until they start a thread so we can start discussing this stuff.

Teehee.

I just had this brilliant idea.

A section of the forum, where the Devs sticky this thread. Only for posts directed at the devs. In the same section, there could be non-stickied discussion threads to keep them separated from that stickied thread.
I still have to think of a catchy name for such a section, preferably using alliteration to make it stick in people's mind.
