The Rich and.... bored

Which nav beacon are you refering to? I've killed lots of npcs on lsh 3262 nav beacon (including condas and type 9) and they don't drop anything

Any Nav beacon tbh, the (wanted) haulers are the ones that tend to drop the Battle Weapons the most, the larger cargo ships seem to be full of rubbish most of the time. But there are those times when they also drop Battle weapons and consumer good. Don't blow them up to quickly either, they drop their cargo when they hit about 40% hull.

If you scoop at nav beacons in policed systems, will you pick up a wanted status of your own? Do the feds scan you at nav beacons?

Just about everyone tries to scan you. Hang around there long enough, or do some bounty hunting, and the feds turn up.

Best bet - kill anyone who is wanted, look out for the feds, do some speed scooping and hightail it to the nearest Anarchy (hopefully the system next door) to flog it.

I quite like the Dahan nav beacon as Morgor is next door for selling stolen stuff.

Hi all millionaire commanders of the galaxy.

What have you been doing after having so many credits?

I recently got to 50M and well not much to do besides messing around (fighting on the conflict zones, ramming security vessels).

Edit: 43M I remember I crashed my Conda on a station yesterday and got the insurance bug

Why'da think some of us spend our time dogfighting each other or trying to do some player pirating/bounty hunting? ;)

Might I suggest you give racing a try. The two we've run have been surprisingly fun, and a third one is jumping off this weekend. Click my banner for more info.

What have you got to lose? (except your ship? ;) )

Since I started bathing daily in credits I've decided to revisit some of the ships I bypassed on the way to the Anaconda.

Had a lot of fun in the Viper and Cobra, doing the combat thing. When that gets boring or I feel the urge for another toilet made of gold i'll go back to trading.

Mess that reputation up some, attack police, irritate NPCs, play nice/not so nice with the other players. It's beta, nows the time to see what kind of game you want when it goes live. A decently kitted viper will only cost you 14000cr or so in insurance if you leave the armour out so it's pocket change and blowing up won't hurt if you annoy the feds one too many times.

I second the racing challenge, it's an awesome way to hone piloting, docking and navigation skills.

This is one of my big fears. I really hope that FD have given serious thought to emergent gameplay. There needs to be other goals outside of earning credits. In other words, amassing wealth should be a side effect of doing other activities - or a means to an end; a tertiary goal.

You mean emergent gameplay such as this?:

You seem to be looking at larger ships as a kind of "End game"... Why stick to an Annie when you can have a blast with a Sidewinder? ;-)

In my case, after i got some 15 MM Cr. I sold my type 9 and got back into my Viper. With all that money I have now I can try all the weapons I want, the way I want and how I want (never tried Anacondas yet).

And it s a blast to be honest. Living the life of a fighter pilot without Cr. is tough but now after saving some it is so much fun.

I cant wait until they revamp the Eagle as planned to give her more jump range, because that is going to be my baby. Cant beat those turn rates and the coolness of that nimble ship.

The greatness of ED is that, even in an early beta stage, the game already allows for players to NOT need to get the larger ships to have fun or as an "End Game".

I was bored of trading when I got to 1m. Dunno how you guys put up with it for so much longer. Since then I've been in a Viper and Cobra and have been bounty hunting NPCs. This is great fun because it leads to pirating, which in turn leads to smuggling, and NOTHING in the game so far is more tense than sneaking into a governed station. I'm sorry to say it but I think I'm going to have to have a go at bush rangering fellow players next.

I know its Beta but from what I read they think they have enough to release in 2014?...

Well they had better have 100 times more content done and dusted behind the scenes or ED will flop hard.

This is not a game yet it is a tech demo - there is zero content - and games need much much more than zero content.

As much as fan boys swoon and praise everything they themselves will have no game to play if ED fails so they had better get real with the rest of us. Fan boys are this games biggest enemies to it's success.

Let's just hope there is a huge mountain of content waiting to add to the small pebble we have right now - if not..... DELAY or fail.

I only have 10 million, but it's enough to buy the Anaconda, which is the most expensive you can buy anyhow.

Personally I am having fun honing my dogfight skills and figuring out ways to make money so that I know what to do after they reset our accounts.

Mostly I fly the Cobra Mk3 though, while waiting for them to increase the Eagle jump range.

Has everyone forgotten the title of this game! It's Elite, not Credits: Dangerous. When the game is released the point will be to become elite status in every aspect. Earning credits will just be a side portion, needed only if you wish to have different ships/weapons. You will probably be able to play most of the game without earning any money

feel free so spread the wealth ;)

I dont want to ruin the final game by playing too much unfinished stuff , but i would love to be able to try out 1 or 2 of the ships I will never get to play in the final game (anaconda / lacon 9) :p
