PvP Is nonconsensual PvP really that much of a problem?

I have a stock Starter Sidey. What are you going to do about that?

Use high performance G5 DDT thrusters mixed with an A rated G5 Low Emissions Powerplant plus a G5 engine focused Power Distributor, yeah sure you said stock but you can't expect much from the only ship the insurance company gives you when you fail to pay the insurance, by that point I'd say you are looking for trouble.

Doesn't care :D

Are those some sort of server?

You just mis-read my post about T-9 shields Bob. There are three realistic choices for shield strategy, bi-weave, regular A-rated & prismatic. I don't use bi-weave on my T-9 for the reasons stated, and don't have access to prismatics because I'm not a cynical exploiter doing the PP rounds to get all the gear, but I do prioritise strength over regen. If I were a cynical exploiter (or a genuine powerplayer) and had access to prismatics they would be my choice, but I don't so I use A-rated instead.

Your choice would be to take the safer option & just use a Cutter, and with that much shield & armour I can imagine you would feel pretty safe :) I don't remember the armour value on my Cutter (it has reactive hull armour & an MRP) but it has about 2000 hitpoint shields(bi-weave C8).

ime 2000 has proved plenty enough on my trade cutter, it's armed for NPCs but I wouldn't open fire on a player with it, I'd be aiming to escape. Do you think 2000 would be enough for you, or is the extra useful in situations you might come across and the way you deal with them?

I don't publish my builds (or even record them) but I'm not being vague to be cagey, I just don't recall off the top of my head. How much shield do you think would be good enough for a Cutter?

No, I'm just pointing out how convoluted you are being.

I gave you one choice, it's not my only one.

Shocking perhaps, but I wasn't born into royalty where I was deeded a Cutter at birth.

Things are situational and provisional.
Your questions and suppositions seem disingenuous.
I'm not interested in that nonsense.

I said I'd try to have a straight conversation with you the other day, and I am. You seem determined to take offence while simultaneously agreeing with me. It seems to me that with your ship builds you are building in much more of a safety buffer than I do though. Is that because you feel you need it for the situations & players you face in your region of space, or because the ship is a multi-role maybe? In my trade cutter (and my T-9) I wouldn't be deploying hardpoints against another player if I ended up being in the same instance as them.

How much would you say is enough for a regular player in Open?

Thanks for that - very interesting. However - just what can 139MJ shields stand up to, how much DPS does the average lulzboat dish out, how long til it blows up the Spacecow, and how long until an ever better lulzboat metabuild is discovered to blow it up even faster?

139 shields that come back quickly with 1700 hull behind could absolutely get yourself out of any sticky situation and even take down an inexperienced griefer, because believe it or not, some griefers really suck at their job.

Some of you people seem to not understand a word. Just like if some sentences and thoughts are invisible to you.
Just maybe read my posts again, because it's just weird.
Seriously, you missed my point completely.

let's try again:
first of all,
I DON"T WANT TO CHANGE MY LAZY GAMING HABITS. I LIKE THEM. THEY'RE MINE.

now that's out of the way,
I'm trying to let you know that even if I'm not playing this game as if it was Arena (many of you seem to confuse Open with Arena btw), I CAN play your victim, if that's what you want, but if you're not doing anything to make it interesting for me, then I'll be avoiding it. I'll be playing Solo and you'll have one less T9 to shoot at.
(And sorry, I will not be doing it even more interesting for you by building my T9 so it would be better at what you like to do with it)
You like shooting helpless T9? Fine. That's why i'm in the Open probably.
Just give me some love. Play with the food for a second maybe.
Because otherwise it's BOOOORING.
I've gone back and re-read what you've posted and I honestly have no clue what you're trying to say. You don't mind being interdicted as long as it's interesting but youre unwilling to build your ship to make it interesting except you have a fighter.
So no, I don't understand what your argument is and in what way you want the game to change.

And once again we're back to victim blaming. "Your build sucks!". Once again ignoring the fact that those people are quite happy with their builds. Ignoring that it's you who is imposing on my gameplay. It's you, the PVP crowd, who keeps telling everyone who doesn't agree with that to play solo, like you own the place. Literally telling me to play the game differently, only to deal with one aspect of the game which I'm not even interested in. The aspect that is imposed opon me by your actions alone. The the only justification being that the game allows is. Not even considering that there might be a better system to deal with this conflict of interest. Just play solo lololol mirite?

It seems like getting blown up is making people decidedly unhappy.
That's often a result of those builds.
Open is voluntary, no one can impose it on you.
