KILL WILL volume 2

Did you quote the wrong post? What you've said has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. I specifically said 'blowing up will on a live stream', that is something not only do I 'know' the effects of, I can actually WATCH THEM LIVE!! I don't attack random commanders, you know this.

Well, think about it, because thats the biggest problem.

you offered in another thread to hunt down gankers. Now comes your moral standard, not ruining othes fun. the twisted reality is, Most gankes get pretty mad when beign blown up, especially those who never ever even seek real competition and just hunt easy people equipped far below their standards. Now one might say "but they deserve it, they ganked too" which locigally is true. But your morale standard would be violated when you blow them up and they would get mad. And believe me many of them do get mad (aka ruining their day). Thats not much different in ED than other games.
You knwo it's like criminals and robbers, they don't want to get robbed but rob other poeple. And your morale says basically, you would never take anythign away from soenone else, which then would turn into: you cannot even take back what a robber stole from someone else.

What magical abilities do you have to know if getting blown up is fun for the one being blown up? Your moralstandards drop the moment you haven't asked, "Would you mind being blown up" anwered by "no" as at this is the very point you put them on the gambling table yb just implying if the others day might have been ruined by it or not.

Now you see... This is where the issue with it lies.

It is not the action of shooting another cmdr that is the antisocial part. That is the reaction of said player who was shot.

It's a bunch of pixels and people get unbeleiveably uptight about virtual money (0 IRL cash value too), to the extent where if you shoot at them they will give you a stream of abuse for attacking them, but aparently you are the bad guy..

This game is strange.

Yes, my moral centre allows me to punish the cruel and evil. Who judges cruel and evil? I do, of course. Does that make me technically no different from the griefers? Sure, but I can live with being that kind of griefer, in fact, I can own it, cos it's completely me.

Now if you wanted to tug on my heart strings, you'd say...but aren't you concerned that you are a far more skilled and better equipped pilot than them? And therefore its completely unfair? And to that, I say "Meh, git gud, or don't grief".

I do now see what you're saying though, I just find it very easy to justify. Society has been punishing those who commit evil acts...forever I guess.

If I COULD loot their stuff from their floating hulks and give it to the traders and explorers, I would.

Everybody knows the real victim is the attacker. What did I just read??????

He was asking for it! He was in Open, with a low shielded T9. Everyone knows what kind of person Will is! I heard he'll open his cargo hatch for anyone. ;)

I wonder how many streams it'll take before either Will or Ed ask Sandro why security doesn't seem to work at all.

Not really the point I was making.

Being shot at in a game with guns in it is not being victimized. It is how a person deals with that event which dictates wether or not the act is an antisocial one.

I know a lot of players who do'nt actively seek PvP, but at the same time, they will fight if provoked, and know when to pull out/or will fight to the death. The same players will send GG and have a laugh and a joke about it, despite not being PvPers. Whereas there is a sect who will throw abuse at you and or log out as soon as you have a pop at them, these are the ones who make the event an antisocial one.

I look for fights with randos in combat vessels because I like combat. I assume thats the same logic people in combat ships are using and it often is.

Ganking/killing defenceless ships is a waste of effort IMO, but throwing a few rounds at someone who has a decent loadout? Why the heck not. They have the capability to fight back same as you.

You made your point quite clear now, sorry I misunderstood initially.

It's not the pixels, its time spent with an acitivity one wishes to do. Otherwise I could just tie your on a chair for 3 hours and if that makes you not have fun it's your fault if not being your fetish or pleasure.

HAHHAA; I just try to imagine, how someone tells the police, "well you see this guy just was asking for it when he let his car open to be filled with shopping articles. It's really his own fault officer." xD

Sure it's just a game, but the logic of some statements isn't logically better just because it's a game.

Knowing and actually asking for it to be shot down and still going in completely unprepared will never work, in any pvp enabled game.

Hardly any defence.
Didn't wait for escorts to join.
Didn't even set his pips right.

Yeah.. that doesn't last long.

I'm really happy about what I see in Q4, no complaints there, but this stream was just utterly unprofessional.

I say kill them more. Kill them until they're fed up with it enough to finally implenent a punishment system that truly disincentivises killing for the lulz.

I wonder how many streams it'll take before either Will or Ed ask Sandro why security doesn't seem to work at all.

One of the interesting snippets from yesterday's stream is that Sandro is no longer working on ED, he's moved on to a new mystery IP.

But clearly he doesn't care, bit of dev magic and his account is back where it was.

I don't think attacking is wrong or right. I personally think someone seeking fame for stream sniping is just meh. I am not outraged, not even sad, it is boring, as evident by Will's reaction. And it was quite visible that griefers are bored as well...question why they stay with ED if they can do enjoy some other games is beyond me.

Hey Lily, are you free to tie me on a chair this weekend ;)
