Douglas Adams vision

Damn OP. Now I feel the itch to grab it and read it again. (and here goes away another evening not playing ED but reading old books)
Also - I can smell those books over the internet...

Yes Nick. I listened to the LP version many many years ago. I may have to seek them out and purchase them. I never noticed any difference at the time, but tbh I should need to own those. :) Thnx

The 42 new regions for example and I am yet to check it but it wouldn't surprise me to find a few of the systems/planets from the books in the game as well.

I could not find Magrathea last time I looked, even though it's a myth, a fairy story......

Theme should be by Disaster Area.

"Disaster Area was a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones and was generally regarded as not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but also as being the loudest noise of any kind at all. Regular concert goers judged that the best sound balance was usually to be heard from within large concrete bunkers some thirty-seven miles away from the stage, whilst the musicians themselves played their instruments by remote control from within a heavily insulated spaceship which stayed in orbit around the planet - or more frequently around a completely different planet.

"Their songs are on the whole very simple and mostly follow the familiar theme of boy-being meets girl-being beneath silvery moon, which then explodes for no adequately explored reason.

"Many worlds have now banned their act altogether, sometimes for artistic reasons, but most commonly because the band's public address system contravenes local strategic arms limitations treaties."

If anyone is wondering, it's quite easy to "find" MP3s of the original radio series on the interwebs.

Ah but, on the sleeve of my vinyl version it says:

When the events on this record take place, only those who have not made tape (or mp3) copies will stand any chance of being rescued.

@bootsam These links above have links to youtube versions of these albums.

I was going to say that Galnet had been taken over by an angsty teenager with delusions of a writing career. But no, you've nailed it...Vogons... They've moved from poetry into fiction. We're doomed....😔

I had a complete set of the books on cassette tapes so technically I'm going to be rescued. Probably. Let's see :)

If you switch on the galnet link on EDDN, then the above is true. Maybe not Vogon in reality, but the net effect was much the same. My spleen vented itself to atmosphere and my intestines throttled me. I nearly dock destroyed myself in my rush to switch the damned thing off.

Any Germans on here wont be rescued, as they seem to leave their towels scattered all over the loungers.
