“don’t touch my conda or i’ll clutch at straws!”
I couldn't care less about the Anaconda's mass lock factor but you're coming across as a proper clown.
still bashing I see instead of a sound argument.
oops, did I scratch your 0kg conda paint?
still bashing I see instead of a sound argument.
Maybe if your original pitch didn't call anyone who disagrees with you childish, you'd get more positive engagement?
I flown the type 9 and rarely died by players or npc even if it was a group of Anacondas But before I buy or use a ship I ask questions. Like if I play in the open what should my defense be. Should I use fighter or wing for the missions I do. Dose rank have a factor. Also locations do play a part of it. I can see a type 10 go in low security systems alone but type 9 with a wing maybe.
Op you say Anaconda players are grasping at straws. I think you are the one grasping at straws.
I dn't use the Anaconda for trading or combat, I use it for exploration so let me reiterate: I could not care less about its MLF. They could make it mass-locked by an Adder for all I care, so I don't have a dog in the fight.
As for 'bashing' though, take a look back at your own posts. By the way I don't give a flying frak about 'realism' in a game about flying space ships in the 34th century. Sorry not sorry.
Take care now ♥
Nah because that's what he's here for - the tone of pretty much every post he's made shows that he's primarily interested in antagonising people.
Dear OP,
No.
Anaconda was designed this way from even before the game went full release (minus the additional military slots).
Changing the conda now would be a slap in the face for many players who use it almost exclusively. People like Explorers who take advantage of the Conda's unique characteristics to build a pretty useful exploration ship, are one example.
So, no.
p.s. You say the forums are toxic? In the 4+ years I've been here, my experience has taught me that starting a forum topic in a toxic manner, then doubling down on your own toxicity - there are many examples in your posts here in this thread alone - makes for a toxic thread with hostile responses. You hath reaped that which thou hast sown.
Wouldn't logic suggest instead of penalising one ship, we just buff the type-9's mass lock and be done with it? it is heavier after all (numbers wise anyway)
That way, Conda's be Condaring and T-9's be T-9ing without a care in the world.
My brain hurts from such sophisticated logic, I can see why the OP never thought of it and instead decided to commit Forum suicide and try and nerf the conda!!!![]()
On a serious note, OP, if you go around and kick the hornets nest multiple times you CAN'T blame the wasps for stinging you!!! Your posts have been a smidge provocative (although from what I am gathering this was somewhat intentional) the community is not "toxic" for retaliation.
cmon that is not bashing... you get upset if someone touches your toy.
it is interesting how all of you try to shift away the discussion from the unreasonable conda hull mass and hide it under insults and
claiming I am a troll.
Just to be clear mate, I think it's more the case that the discussion has already been done to death. Every two months or so at most there's a 'WAHHHH ANACONDA' thread and I mean going back over three years to when I started playing. I'm pretty sure that if FDev had the slightest interest in doing anything about it, they would have already done it.
At that point, my suspicion with threads like this is that they are less about a genuine desire to have exactly the same conversation about the ship for the 50th time and more about finding veiled ways to insult players who use the ship.
So for clarity yes there is no logical consistency in the Anaconda's hull mass, or probably more accurately there's no logical consistency in a ship with the size and mass of an Anaconda having the integrity that it has (the mass itself would be fine as long as the hull was paper-thin). As far as mass-lock is concerned, we all know that mass lock is basically just some handwavium, which is why for example an Orca (290T hull mass, 516T unladen mass in stock configuration) can mass lock a Federal Gunship (580T hull mass, 846T unladen mass in stock configuration). Because it's err... bigger *waves hands*
On the other hand, how does a 190 lbs cowboy manage to detain a wild horse that weighs well over his weight with nothing but a rope. A Conda's could be aquaited with a cowboy and a t9 a horse. Physics are still physics.
Masslock is illogical, either a drive is locked by a specific mass or it isn't, and then who or what creates that mass should not matter. But since the T10 has a c7 FSD and the T9 a c6 it would be logically that it's FSD can overocme a higher mass than the T9.
What I disagree with however, is the MLF's of ships with the same tonnage, MLF should depend on the current toal tonnage of a ship including cargo.
Agree on the fact that mlf should depend on current total tonnage of ship including cargo.
And yes, I was not factoring in the fsd class. And.. Anaconda has a 6a frame shift drive, same as.. T9. The more you think about it the more the conda does not make sense in its current state. No surprise Sandro wanted to rebalance it.
