Want to purchase second account: access to Horizons, paint jobs, weapons colors?

I'm interested in purchasing a second account to re-experience the game from scratch without wiping my main.

Would I need to also re-purchase Horizons and the paint jobs and weapons colors that I currently own on my main account?

Yes, it'll all need to be bought for each CMDR slot. But you don't need paint jobs for every CMDR.

I have 5 slots, all with Horizons. Well, all have paint and wep colors too, but they don't need them.

Unless the new paid DLC is incredible, I'll probably give it a pass on most of my licenses. (Although, that's what I said about paint.)

I've read that console users (At least Xbox) get the ability to have multiple slots by signing into different accounts on Xbox. If this is true? Do your store purchases remain available for all of them?

Multiple cmdr slots on PS4, no your store purchases are not available to all of them.

I had a choice. Buy paint jobs or weapon colours Or Third account. Well, First one like you I don't want to wipe it out. My secondary account is an Ironman mode setup with an Anaconda. My third account I will wait until 3.3 is released before playing it.

That would be news to me, I've been playing the PS4 version since it launched and I have never seen these multiple slots you're talking about.

Unless, like the previous guy stated it's just for setting up additional accounts and playing off the same copy of the game. If so you'd need to set up a separate PS+ subscription to play anything other than solo mode.

Again, I wish we had actual extra character slots for individual accounts.

Yeah its that.

The way some people say extra slots makes it confusing.

Though last I heard PS+ subscription wqs shared across accounts to if the primary account on the system had am active sub. There was an exploit were you could make an account and get the free 14 day sub, then keep making a new account each time it runs out and get free PS+. Dont know if they fixed it yet, though

FD own their store yet they'll tell you they can't do a thing for you due to licensing agreements. The reality is, they could credit your purchase history content to the new account, but they don't. Not so far anyways.

Guys watch this and be amazed at the ship painint capability which is early next year in the new Rebel Galaxy Outlaw game!

They should sell this 3d model painting tool as a separate product also!

There is no need for a separate PS+ subscription - all the online games I have can be played by multiple different user accounts on the PS4. ED is no different. So technically, no it's not another Cmdr slot within the game, but another Cmdr available by simply setting up another user account on my PS4.

I'd pay for a second slot on my account but I won't buy a second account.

I've spent far more on game extras than I did buying the game - including Horizons.

I bought the stuff as much as a kind of voluntary subscription as because I needed paintjobs I hardly ever see, and was happy to do it: it still works out at less than 15p/hr for my gaming fun, compared to over £1/hr for the single-player console games I used to consume.

Still, I've bought the stuff and paid for it, and I expect to have access to it whenever I'm playing the game. So I'd feel cheated not having access to my stuff on a second account, and since I don't like feeling cheated, no second account for me.

Yes you do need separate purchases for a second account. The good news is that both the basic game and Horizons are currently on offer in the store at just £8.00 each! So now would be a good time to buy them. :)

Yes, because everything should be SOLD where a developer actually includes it as part of the already SOLD product. 🤔

If and when one buys a different platform, one can request from FDEV a transfer of assest from the old platforms account to a new different platform account. One looses everything but the total of all one's material objects like ships, mods, and spendable cr's (Total Assests). I'm not sure about pc's but consoles can have multiple accounts, via their platform and just like the original, start as a brand new noob at day one in the sidewinder at the stater system. In the main menu, threre is a process where one can completely wipe their entire status and restart the entire game from scratch and start anew. It comes with a couple of warnings, because it can't be undone.

After 16 months on a ps4, I switched to an xbox one x, requested a transfer from fdev, and though I had billions and billions of cr's, I started the new game which I had to buy for my xbox from the very beginning in a sidewinder as a noob. Though I had billions and billions of cr's, everything else was gone gone gone. No rank, no engineer's unlocked, no permits unlocked, etc etc etc. Obviously, it was a very short time before aquiring my previous ships Python, two Conda's and a Challeger, all of which were immediately "A" graded. But I accumulate any and all materials needed and unlock all my favorite engineer's again. Having been there before, loosing my status of both KING and ADMIRAL wasn't a big deal inso much as I know I'll never need a Cutter or Vette again. I'm a member of the Alliance and thus don't ever have to do those grinds again.

That is amazing!

How does that work with multiplayer? What I mean is, when you encounter another player, how much data has to be sent over the network in order to recreate their ship on your screen?

In ED, the game only has to send a small amount of data - the ship type, the livery, the decals. And all the files for all of those things are already on your hard drive (so for example, the Cobra Medusa paint job is already on your hard drive - you don't have to download it the first time you encounter a player using it).

How does that work in Rebel Galaxy? Is there a loading screen when someone jumps into your instance?
