Not to sound ungrateful, but no love for LEP?

That's management spiel.

Frontier know damn well what idea's they have for the next few years be it 2, 4, 6, 8 years & beyond.

I doubt we would have got this far without some management plan. It's just that they are reluctant to tell us anything until the last second.

I believe that Atmospheric Landings & Space Legs are still coming, maybe not for acouple more years, but still coming.

I dunno what to tell you.

That statement from Frontier clearly shows they've only just made the decision on 2019.

You say they know what they're doing up to 8 years away, well I don't beleive you.

I've provided a statement from Frontier, can you please provide some evidence.

Your comment was in relation to paid expansions, you only need to look back and see how many times the business model has changed. You have no idea how that will or won't change going forward, and neither do Frontier.

Maybe they repeat what they've just done. 1 x paid expansion over 4 years. I mean that seems reasonable given previous dev progression.

Neither you or I are included in management discussions of Frontiers development meetings. What I'm trying to get across to you is that it wouldn't be a successful company IMO & have survived this long without having a continual long term management plan.

What Frontier, or any other company, release as statements don't always ring true, sometimes telling us only what 'we want to hear' or minimal information.

I don't follow youtube, so I don't know if discussed or not, but I wouldn't worry, carriers are coming, I'm guessing they'll be paid for content.

I don't think so, I thought that we were told that the delayed content from the Beyond update, would be free in 2019

I ought the LEP to save me money in the long run and because I had faith in the game. Anything I get on top of that is just a bonus really. The LEP works as intended and I don't get salty about it. not knowing there was a kickstarter for ED is what gets me salty, 'cause then I'd have a station, system, and that sleek pyrat beta decal. Still, spilt milk and all that. In the long run none of these things truly affect my ability to play the game.

They don't know what's coming in 4-6 years.

Frontier's statement back in Sept shows they've only just settled on what they're doing in 2019.

A while ago, our development went from pre-production into full production on our next major milestone of Elite development.

To me it doesn't say that. It says that a while before the statement they went into full production. It doesn't say when it went into pre-production or when that work was originally planned.

I see the thread has acquired some nice tags.

I don’t get involved in these threads often but it always strikes me when people that paid for something in good faith and feel let down or even ripped off over it are mocked by people that didn’t buy it.

It’s often the same people leaping to FDEVs defence but instead of helping them they are actually making matters worse by trolling and winding up those that did.

No doubt the threads would also fizzle out faster. FDEV don’t need you sticking up for them and would be better off with out your help.

Perhaps someone from frontier could tell us when we are getting our store credit as it’s nearly the end of the year and we haven’t had any news for a white? Thanks

And that's the main problem with Frontier.

Their communication is poor to say the least. Not just in this instance.

Knowing what Frontier must think about the section of the player's base that have LEP's, regular updates would ease these player's concern.

Even if every coming update would be for free, i don't care. I played this game for 4 years straight and i am not planning on stopping anytime soon.
If my LEP money helps making this game better and keeps it evolving, it was a good investment. I don't need to get any advantage over others - be it financial or other, i just want to fly a spaceship.

What, other than Horizons, has been announced as a paid expansion with an ETA?

Frontier cannot control the expectations of individuals, often based on assumptions made from what they have read, both official and unofficial.

No, don´t get me wrong here. I said that everything - on a legal Basis - seems to have been managed correctly. But when it comes to expectations I am certain that the one or other word NOT being said during Kickstarter Campaign and during the Alpha/beta Phase would have NOT raised so many expectations. With the downhand that People like me would NOT have bought this game. They knew exactly what they did, and especially the Marketing Department (I just say: Release Trailer as one of hundred examples) did enough to raise those expectations.

And after 4 years you have to accept that several customers simply don´t believe a single word said by any official of Frontier until the finished product is released. And that is not a Problem of the community, that´s a homemade-problem of Frontier. Yes, I see that they changed communication over the years, I also see that the patch-quality was way better over the last 2 years, I also see that a lot of Things that were implemented are well thought out and Play together with the other functions in game. And then I see CQC, Powerplay, optional Invasions. Sorry - that doesn´t fit together, and the whole Elite Universe feels like a bunch of patchworked minigames.

if I were Frontier I would do a lessons learned-session with the Management Team, abandon Elite Dangerous, move 80 % of the Team to Elite Deadly (or whatever it will be called) and do it right. Without leaving a totally frustrated community and without further damaging of the Reputation.

And yes, I would still put the same Money into this game.
