News Removal of 'UA Bombing'

Won't miss it in the slightest.

It was trivially easy (but boring as hell) for someone to haul a bunch of UA's and shut down a station. Fixing a broken station was a complete pain in the and you either relogged at a barnacle over and over or you hoped nobody else was buying out Darnielle's Progress. It was a battle of "who can do this boring thing most".

As far as being a tool of BGS warfare, it was laughably one-sided as well. Some government types auto-close black markets so those guys were totally immune to the "tactic".

I remember hauling part of tens of thousands of MAs to Harma (a PP HQ) to fix it.

So if stations have now adapted over time, does this mean AX type modules will either slowly be integrated into normal modules.. Or just give an extra boost over standard?

Sad days. Criminality lost a way to play.

On the bright side, now the criminals can spend more time killing other players!

We have control over getting attacked, so yes, it's a positive step.

UA bombarding had no feasible counter.

UA bombarding had no feasible counter.

Yes it had. At first it was post-factum hauling of MA's.

Then you could prevent the station from shut down by supplying MA's in advance. After that UA's had no effect IIRC.

Inoculation was the best way to control against these attacks....and the movement of MA's always repaired the problem.

I'm good with it, as long as they apply their lore-friendly explanation to ship cargo bays as well. Since such minute amounts of meta alloys are needed with this miraculous breakthrough, and since they can somehow apply this new technology instantaneously at every installation in the galaxy, I think my ship should be immune to Thargoid Sensor damage when I log in tomorrow. I really hope ships are immune now, because I really hate it when a line of reasoning boils down to "just because... you know, 'cause of game balance, and things, and stuff."

Cool. How did that help me shoot down Type-9s in Solo?

It didn't. And it's got nothing to do with it. You've said UAB "had no feasible counter" - and that statement wasn't true.

There is no direct counter for Solo mode in any other aspect of the game, so that argument in relation to UAB specifically is moot.

Cool. I disagree. UA bombing should have been Open-Only, so I could blow up those UAs.

Oh well... Looks like I win in the end when it comes to UAs. :3
