Now the wait begins

With the Beta coming to a close soon, I have reluctantly stuck my toe back into Live, and what a shallow dull place it is now :D At one stage I was going to take a mini break until 3.3 drops as there wasn't much I wanted to do using the current system then I realised I did have something to do - mat collection so I can start engineering the modules for the new Phantom and Mamba (and maybe the Orca too, still tossing up on that one).

So I will be hanging around out the front of stations mindlessly scanning ships and high wakes, driving in what I hope the right direction in the SRV looking for ANYTHING and aimlessly burning fuel in SC hoping the RND Gods are kind and I find a HGE or two. The sad thing is I could do all of these in 3.3 in probably 1/10 the time for far more success but it will keep me busy I guess.

So for those that jumped into Beta and enjoyed it, what will you be doing after the Beta is gone whilst waiting for 3.3 to drop?

I never engaged much with the Thargoid content before beta 3.3 (less than 10 engagements against scouts and interceptors combined), so I'll be practicing fighting these some more. :D

Consolidated my fleet (now all kitted out in midnight black...) and redundant modules, gathered some mats, moved out of Jameson's to the edge of the bubble to try some BGS work.

But whatever I do, I keep thinking "this would be so much better in 3.3 now, and it'd look better too" so maybe it's time for a couple of weeks break?

/knows full well who'll be logging back in again tomorrow

One of my alts has another 20,000 Ly to travel to get to his start point for 3.3 - he was sent out without any Discovery Scanner (he will get one when 3.3 drops :) ). So it's about another 500 hyperspace jumps seeing no planets before he reaches his spot - that's the weekend taken care of.

My main will carry on doing BGS work, Thargoid investigation and maybe some Thargoid defence - looks like all my mats are nearly full, so no doubt shuffling them around, and maybe stripping down my Beluga for a new role in exploration once the passenger slots are de-restricted:)

I actually did the same as OP last night. Believe it or not, while I love the new lighting in space coming in 3.3, I missed the non-washed out station interiors (though I noticed a lot of the station interiors were updated too). What I reallllllllllllly missed was the Galaxy Background. It was so dull for me in the Beta, I can see more from Earth than I can from space....I hope they adjust that.

I hopped back over, made the 218m credits I'll need to buy and outfit a Mamba and Phantom just the way I want to park them, plus a little walking around money in case I decide to buy anything else, moved a few ships around and am trying to figure out what system I want to log in for First Mapped bonuses.

Why don't you make a note of some of the great material gathering locations in the beta and go there in live and pick up some of those mats in a more targeted way?

Just note down the lat/long coordinates and away you go. Don't know that they are all there in live, but some certainly are.

Well. I popped in to get a daily thargoid interceptor kill while checking on the thargoid heart legality change.

I put together a new home alarm system, beginning the process of cord cutting. Set up a Roku, that will be the biggest hurdle and yet largest savings if I can figure it out to my wife's satisfaction.

Oh, you meant in game.... yea. Having a hard time with that.

Was thinking on boring myself on mat collections but promptly logged out.

Same here, my beta phantom and live krait are both parked until 3.3 drops. I did think of mat collection as well, but I tested in beta, big mistake I guess, I couldn't face mat collection in current live after that!

Trust me on this, doing mat collecting in 3.2 after Beta is akin to giving up your brand new car and going back and driving a Model T Ford - yes both will get you from point A to B, but the latter takes so long to get there and the ride is so uncomfortable :D

New guy, hating the grind on live right now, how is it different if you can sum up, or is there a link to the changes?

Probably, in no particular order:
- Consolidating some systems my group's faction holds, so we don't end up in a dozen different wars in systems we care about, and lose the ones we don't.
- Getting a selection of Anti-Xeno ships properly set up.
- Getting some engineer modifications set up on other ships
- Upping the performance of my AspX in preparation for a comparison with the Krait Phantom.

Been doing some engineering refinements before heading out to a system I tagged a few years ago that has 100 objects in it.

I'll be there when we go live to map them all.

Then I'll head back to buy the new ships.

So exciting...

Meh

Moved all my ships to Shinrata Dezhra.

Moved them all back to my old base system.

Knobbed about in my DBX for a bit.

Now I've decided to do some tech unlocks on my next 2 days off to have some nice Thargoid hunting kit for the Incursions. As long as I can remain sober enough to not get distracted by a CZ.

DL'd but skipped beta. Been keeping myself busy assembling a anti-thargoid Challenger. So looking forward to the live release and feeling lost in keybinds and new mechanics.
Love this game :)

Grinding till i Die,like always.
