Escaping from a neutron star Bugged. Ship will not jump when Aligned with Target.

It's prob too late now, since you seem to have wrecked your engines already, but this is what you should have done:
immediately throttle DOWN and turn FA off, then flip your ship to align with the escape vector and use boost ONCE (while still FA off) to reach max. escape velocity.
Being able to pop a heat sink during that procedure helps at lot.
Thus you stand a change to escape without burning your engines out.

A few tips:

1) You align by Boosting at the right time. This doesn't just buff your main thruster but your directional thrusters also, helps you keep oriented. Multiple boosts may be needed so a decent Distributor helps.

2) If you start immediately, don't faff around and fly well you can manually fly out of the jetcone, it's usually quite narrow at the edge of the exclusion zone.

3) Low-waking along the vertical axis of the jetcone towards the escape vector is a viable strategy and you will be thrown around a little less. The problem is if you keep trying this for a while and don't succeed you will be no nearer the edge, which you may well be if you were trying to high wake to a system instead.

As such I find trying to boost into high wake to be the best strategy.

Yep, NEVER jump into a neutron star system without having an escape route plotted, i.e. never have the neutron as the last star in the plotted route.

Due to logging out of the game and then logging back in, plotting a route prior to jumping into a system doesn't apply here. As logging out seems to reset that route. But ya, that's how I fly. Have your route setup and ready before you start jumping.

You know if you boost at just the right time - you can lock in a Hi-Wake. But it's total luck and very unlikely.

I wouldnt say its luck. You just point and go. I found it quite easy to do but then again i always use boost as a tool to trigger FSD quickly.

I made a video that end up showing how your claim of "point and go" is very VERY inaccurate. Was originally in reply to what you've claimed as "Just point and go" but it will help show how that claim is unsubstantiated.

You cannot "point and go" when you have no way of mitigating this sort of ship rotation and wobble. You have no control.

Yeah, what achibot said. You're not using boost at all, which multiple people have suggested doing in this thread.

Also, something to watch out for in the future when you can't see the exclusion zone ring around the star is that an "IMPACT" warning will appear in the top right of your HUD, just above the info panel, when you're pointed inside the ring.

Well im sorry that you cant. I learned to dig myself out of neutron jets back when it was bugged and sometimes it used to just drop you inside them. I have got my cargo stuffed type 7 out twice by lining up, charging the drive, waiting till its almost full and then you boost and point the right way and off you go. It really is that easy but you will only learn by dropping inside jets and doing it.

Edit: I looked at your youtube. Are you even in the jets? Thats the gentlest neutron i ever seen and a very poor attempt at escape.

You're not boosting at all though, you'll never get aligned with just normal thrust.

Stop lying! I did boost, did you even watch the video? Rewatch the video and both listen and look at my engine gauge at 1:17. I am boosting.

Don't lie when you can't back that up.

Watch the video. I am boosting when I become aligned or close to aligned. Just as people have suggested doing. Also telling someone they are doing a "poor job" at something does nothing to help them and just makes you look high and mighty. It resolves nothing and helps no one. You are doing a poor job of being constructive.

See? Doesn't tell you anything. Don't talk down to people, makes you look like a jerk to them. This is the first time I've had this happen. Also what the heck does "gentlest neutron" even mean? You got a visual scale you can show to back this up? Since sounds like you are just using cop-outs at this point. Which does no one any good.

People need to stop lying out of their rears. You all didn't even watch the video. Had you actually done, you'd have both seen and heard that I was boosting. Don't lie when you aren't bothering to even fully watch a video given.

Oh, my mistake. I was only watching for boosts at times when they would've been helpful. Boosting that long before your FSD is charged will have the effect worn off long before the charge finishes. You boost at 1:17. Your FSD isn't charged until 1:28, at which point you are sitting on a full ENG capcitor and are not boosting.

I am Burke. Point the ship and boost.

It's just incredibly frustrating when people make claims that are false and try to lie about something that is blatantly obvious. So pardon my blunt reply to your claim.

Issue as it stand is being able to align and keep my FSD active without just failing like it keeps doing.

At this point about to give up. With how wobbly my ship is to where I have no control, with how fast the FSD fails (notice in the video within milliseconds after it finishes charging it fails?), and how I can only reboot and repair once before it tells me the repair failed if I try again, it's just not worth the stress levels this whole crap storm has put me through.

At this point you just seem to be trying to troll. Since it's already been stated numerous times that I can't point the ship at all because I have no control. I have no way to fight the star and you can clearly observe that in the video. My ship does 180s spinning it towards the star and away from it, with everything in between.

"Point the ship" would mean that I have control of where my ship is pointing.

Very much this, I actually watched it twice and missed it.

Secondly, calling people names when they are trying to help you is not nice. It's "doing a poor job of being constructive".

You wernt even in the jets. When you are in the jets the ship is all over the place, it rolls and spirals and twists you around so you are facing the star. What you are doing is sitting much too close to the star wiggling the ship up and down as far as i can see and just failing badly all round, is it me trolling or you? I cant tell.

First thing we all see when the video starts is your ship sitting perfectly still with no canopy.

Edit: At 1:27 you should press the boost button and do your best to aim at the warp out. Ok after watching again, you are just brushing the outside edge of the cone and it is indeed a very gentle one.
