It could be done if an experienced player uses your account flying your ship then obtaining the GFSD by normal game play. However, this "friend" could also reset your game to a starting Sidewinder to spite you. I'd be sitting next to them learning how to work the Guardian sites while they play the game.

A better way is to watch all the Guardian YouTube videos, learn the skills then go do it. There are a lot of Guardian toys you might want later. Note the GFSD is probably the most material friendly Guardian module and the sites needed to obtain it are some of the easiest. I think Frontier designed it this way to get players interested in the Guardians.

I was doing 3 jump passenger runs. Took a break and unlocked the GFSD boosters. Two hours later I'm doing two jumps. Well worth the side trip.

If you want somebody to hold your hand while you do it all, gimme a shout.

Honestly, getting the stuff from the Guardian sites isn't that bad - drive around a bit, shoot some stuff, pick up the debris.
Rinse & repeat.
After that, go to one of the big Guardian relic sites and scan tablets for an hour or so and you'll have all you need.

Personally, I'd suggest picking up all the mat's required to unlock the FSD Booster, the Shield Booster, the PDist and the PP.
The SB is a very handy bit of kit for combat ships and the PDist and PP make a good off-the-shelf substitute for engineered modules on new ships.

You're going to be spending a fair bit of time at the Guardian sites, blasting Sentinels (and the scenery) for the mat's, so you might as well take the opportunity to collect a heap of the Guardian Module fragments rather than just the two(?) required for the FSD Booster.

You can do it Gypsy! Baby steps and perhaps alternate and break up the process by doing other things when you feel the resentment coming on. I was in the same boat as you. The thought of unlocking the FSD booster made me prefer ironing and doing the dishes to playing ED. But somehow or another it happened and I am very glad I did it.

Or maybe it was only a bad dream?

I just did it myself today. I worked the site to get the materials and then did the final blueprint segment bit last. The whole process took me about 3 hours and I’m rubbish at fighting in the SRV.

I was thinking it would have been nice to go out there with a wingman who could takeout the Sentinals with a ship rather than the SRV. If you want a hand, pm me and I’ll meet you out there and fly CAP to help you out.

Follow the video posted.. it's easy.

I did exactly what Exigeous did in his tutorial video and it was not only easy.. but actually fun.

If you can get a 2nd player to come with you, it's even better. Coop SRV combat against the sentinels is a blast. Don't think of it as a chore, it's actually real content for once. Take advantage of the chance to have some fun.

Just did the unlock today, it’s pretty simple and only took me a couple of hours too.

When I was doing it a friendly player dropped in, ran around and shot everything, gave me the needed item to drop on the spot and it was done in five minutes. To be honest I wasn't looking forward to it either and was havng trouble orienting myself, but there are enough friendly people around that if you ask someone will assist.

As if it was so hard to unlock the Guardian stuff... Especially the booster. I still have much more Guardian material than I will ever need. People seem to hear the word "grind" on the forum and immediately jump on the train... I never grinded anything and got enough for whatever I want. Even got two fighters unlocked just because they are pretty. :D

^ This. There is only a grind in the guardian stuff if you want it all and now. You can get enough to unlock a module or two on one evening, especially if you don't read up how to solve the sites and try it first on your own. I enjoyed it and it is not that hard to crack. It helps if you were on guardian sites before, because you will have some data already in your computer, but if not, there are usualy ruins close by where you can get more data than on the sites.

I’ve unlocked the FSD booster...twice. One for my main account and one for my alternate account (created so I can join DW2).

Both times I arrived at the site in open. Both times I found other commanders there. Both times I winged up to help and get help. Both times I had a blast.
