The New Alien game gets its title

I couldn't get into Alien Isolation. I wanted to. It really seemed like the kind of Alien game I could get into, as I'm not so much into the shooters in the series.

Something about it didn't click, though. I think part of it was just frustration after having to repeat sections of the game over and over and over on account of insta-death if you get caught by the xeno.

Yeah, the hospital is bad. The whole start is really hard, tbh.
Later when you have some ways to scare the xeno away and hide, it's much easier. Androids are bigger problem than the alien, tbh. At least for me. Hate those things. Alien is at least cute in its own way.

So far all "gaming" phones have been quite idiotic. So as 99% of games available for mobile. So...eh. What's the point? At least if they tried to make good games, which is totally possible. But it will probably be another "pay to skip 24 hour waiting time before making next move" type of garbage.

Oh I agree. Gaming phones are dumb.

That's precisely why they sell in this world of £1k iPhones.

After being dragged out of a locker or from underneath a table then scoffed by the alien for the 1000th time...I found a 'Dumber Aliens' mod on the Nexus...

Still as atmospheric...but not quite as frustratingly deadly or nearly as harsh as shouting loudly at the monitor or looking for new shorts every 3 minutes

I think there is a mod that "untethers" the alien so it doesnt always stay in your area. I found that a bit gamey. Might be easier - but also more unpredictable.

I'd think it would be interesting if the new Alien game was about being a colonist trying to survive during the chaos of the colony being overrun, filling in the gap of the 2nd movie before the marines got there. ("Whatever happened here, we missed it.") Then at endgame surviving by making it to an escape ship and next game after would be about crashing on the engineer planet finding the remains of the Prometheus and having to escape from the "Deacon" alien and other horrors behind the unopened "mural" wall.

Though I really enjoyed Alien: Isolation, getting the flame thrower turns the game into easy mode. The once fear inducing, locker hiding, "oh please don't find me" xenomorph becomes nothing other than a mild nuisance with your arsenal of gadgets later game.

Funnily a popular consensus amongst the folk on the Isolation reddit was that Isolation 2 would have been you as Newt trying to.survive till Ripley finds her in the vents.

The next Alien isolation should have lots of killable aliens and a pulse rifle. Or by jingo they'll feel my wrath [mad].
