PvP Heal beams, Premium ammo synth and crimes on. Why so much crying over them?

I still don't understand why premium is such a big deal. I mean, it requires a serious amount of rare mats and the ammo is gone after you reload. I've never used premium ammo except on a set of plasma slug rails that I use for pve because I just don't feel it's worth it and in all my battles I've never felt like my opponent was doing more damage than normal. Maybe I've just been lucky but I've never seen premium ammo as any kind of issue.

Heal beams, crimes and combat logging on the other hand, I have a huge issue with. One of my own even runs crimes and it really es me off even though I've never said anything to him about it.

My thoughts here are purely from a damage inflation tier that promotes grinding.
We already jump through enough content hoops to get to the gameplay we actually want.

I love flight combat. Why make me mine trade explore collect scan .....etc just to be able to combat competitively?

In non consensual PvP you get anything that goes.
Consensual PvP is a test of skill not a measure of perseverance doing things you hate.

These are just my personal views and do not purport to represent anyone else's.

As usual the answer here is very straight forward but unlikely.
Make all in game assets weapons upgrades materials etc purchaseqble AND,
At the same time implement propper career and income paths for PvP combat.

Dream on....

I have a theory on how to kill heal beam ships. What about mines. Seeing how the beam only recharges shields and doesn’t protect the modules (to my understanding) why not use mines to destroy the generator once its poped health beams wont do them much good :p

I allways wanted to test this......

Perhaps you already know this, but mines are among the most difficult to use weapons. It takes far more time and effort than torps to knock out some shields, and you probably only want to use them in more agile ships, which usually means less fire power. You'll even hit yourself if you fire them at zero distance to ensure hits.

The thing is once you start using it it is like heroin. You get a rush and that sweeeet30% damage increase, but before long you end up relying on that 30% to win your fights. I think I can safely say that most don't run it because we save the mats for engineering and can't be bothered wasting them for a edge in battle

I really probably should use premium. I am such a scrub D:

Reverberating Cascade > Healing Beams.

You always need a torpedo guy to handle the healer in a wing, it could be argued that they are also op af as they completely negate healing beams that completely negate the damage from two wings as someone said here xD
Point Defense > Reverb Cascade.

How has no one posted healies4feelies in a thread on healies?

Apologies if I missed it by being a who skimmed the thread too quickly.

Anyway my worthless opinion. Healies are stupidly OP and a major source of drama in PS4 PvP land which has largely turned me off to getting into wing fights. In 1v1 you don't have to worry about such crap, or the complaints about such crap. They are OP to the point of being broken and only countered by ridiculous long shots like reverb torps and mines, or a bazillion flechette hits, or maybe phasing. But those are all very weak/unreliable counters, unlike other powerful engineering effects which mostly have counters.

Synth annoying but not OP.

Crimes... welll if you're pirating/roleplay/ganking/whatever then of course the opponent will have crimes on. But that's not PvP as meant here right?

"Real" PvP, well if someone has crimes on in non anarchy, they are not really a PvP'er, so it doesn't really count. You are free to just ditch. Or better yet just go down fighting, WGAF it's just a game and we're all billionaires in PvP town.

Cops? Thats an issue? The deal about as much DPS as an engineered Viper between like ten of them. You can try to troll with them, but against an experienced pilot they are often of no consequence.

Premium ammo is a funny one. Though again, it has trolling potential, it is a crutch. Usually used by people trying to break the skill gap between them and thier opponent. It's nt a forbidden thing, but it is a little cheesy.

Heal beams however are an utter travesty when it comes to game balance. Moreover it makes PvP very boring. Noones shields drop, everyone runs out of actual DPS (Because the only power weapons are projectile, and there for ammo based) and people have to leave without anyone dying. Its dull and outside of SCBs there should not be a form of "potion popping" in a skill based game. (Im not fond of SCBs in all honesty, again potion popping, but at least you are limited by volume.)
