I don't say it's Thargoids, but it _is_ Thargoids.
But only 2.8% of the players have read it.
Scheduled celebrity access. They booked their arrival a week before and arrived on time. The docking computer engaged because the throtte was on zero and it drifted into docking range after leaving supercruise. Makes perfect sense.
Possibly the transporter beams only transport organic material, leaving the clothing behind. Not in this case, according to the story, so they either beamed out or left the ship, dropping what they had in their hands on the floor.
In any event, I'm sure we'll see a follow-up story in a few weeks where they're all found on some small base somewhere with (conveniently) no memory of what happened to them.
Well considering the missing author turned up a few days later I would say approximately nowhere.

The ship was attacked by small drones which were able to jump into the ship. This means very much precision technology and I have not seen such type with any Thargoids.

I think this event was accident, they did not want the attention... I feel like their scout service accidentally hit an easy target to investigate but did not realize the public value of the target.

Since the crew just "vanished", this means bending space time inside the ship and around it... And this points out the abduction happened in frame space. Not while flying in frame space, but while jumping out from it. That moment of time when the ship breaks out from FSD drive. The crew inside the ship goes through extremely slow time while the attacker has normal time running for them. The crew was simply "frozen" in the time while they were carried out from the ship.

the follow up to this story is even weirder, galnet reported that people are afraid of hyperspace travel due to this celebrity disappearance, well duh, there's a growing massive goids attack in the main bubble already and has been for like a year or something? and people were oblivious with that? but a disappearance of this celebrity struck their nerve?
