3.3.03 unplayable(in new systems)

Subnautica is soooo good. Its downright disturbing at times. So long as you dont cheat and read stuff about it up front its one of those very rare games. Its absolutly bloody brilliant tbh, again so long as you go into it blind.

Issue is that belt clusters are no longer being marked as "Explored" - neither by the automated scan nor by the explicit FSS body scan.

You can see for yourself by checking the NavPanel. And obviously enabling Belt Clusters which nobody has enabled..

This means any time you get close to Belt Clusters, the automated scan "discovers" them again (ad infinitum). And spams that ludicrous great big huge blue banner in the middle of the screen.

So actual bug: "Discovered/Explored" flag is not being set on Belt Clusters.

Quality of Life improvement 1 : Only show that silly big huge blue banner if in the FSS fullscreen mode; NOT when in normal cockpit view.

Quality of Life imrpovement 2 : Scroll through the "discovered" messages as soon as the ship computer discovers something; we don't need a 5 second pause for every single asteroid.

Got it for free from Epic. Stopped after an hour, all very pretty but it felt like a NMS style collectathon.

Some people call it no mans ocean. Didnt you follow the story at all? Or if you lose the thread just keep going deeper. I wonder how far you got in that hour. Most of game is claustrophobic pant filling terror.

Edit: ah wait i played it harcore, if i died i was dead game over. Try that way :)

Edit2: there is an aspect of it that you are expected to explore for yourself. If its all gone quiet and you cant or dont want to go deeper look around.

Good to know, so I don't waste time downloading the update. I'll go download Subnautica instead :D

I'm so glad I didn't spend money on new hardware in vain attempt to improve this game!

Can relate to the new signature. Enjoy your time in Subnautica, dive save o7

I'm probably gonna put this game back in the shelf (yes I own a physical copy) until the next expansion comes out. The Q4 hype has worn off and all we're left with is bugs, a broken BGS and broken HGE.

Lets see. I'm 2600 LY out, in my Exploraluga and every system will spam me with unlimited asteroid cluster detection. Guess I'll wait for the hotfix - Subnautica it is :D

Going in blind is part of the fun. I restarted it a few times because I learnt something important about mechanics or the game itself ;-) but no spoilers.

can confirm it's not only belt clusters, seems any auto discoverable body.

@general, come on dudes, this is not really unplayable at all. just ignore the messages. i got 3 systems worth of bodies in full loop and went on to do some engineering and then some cz time. i'm absolutely used at the game spamming nonsensical messages at me all the time, not really that different.

Frontier development cycle:

1. Before update: Everybody is hyped about the new content that will come with the next update.

2. Update release: People realize that the new update broke as much old content as new content was introduced, and start to feel unhappy.

3. Half a year later: The new content has now become old content, but the bugs introduced with the update are still there, everybody is **** (angry).

[haha]
