DEATHRACE! Who wants to join? Simple rules but actually quite difficult to manage. Players start outside a regular Coriolis station in front of the docking slit. When the race starts they have to enter the outer structure and fly in between it for several laps. For a start this can be the square which is rotating in the same plane as the entrance. The survivor or fastest of let's say ten laps wins!
Bronze Cup 1: Shields on, flying counterclockwise
Silver Cup 2: Shields off, flying counterclockwise
Gold Cup: Shields off, flying clockwise
Weapons have to be stowed and their use is not allowed.

Players needed

I really would like to try it with a couple of other players because

1. It is fun
2. It is some emergent gameplay activity, the dev team did probably not envision in the beginning

So I was flying a couple of rounds and killed 2 vipers in the process and the rotation of the the structures makes for some nice dynamics because while flying one has to counteract the rotation but not too much to make it impossible to fly. I also would like to see whether it is possible to overtake somebody while flying inside the structure and whether it is spacious enough.
I tried it both with the screen and the Oculus and both works well. No disadvantage using the monitor only.

It caters also for some tactical gameplay. Do you put more pips into engine or system, because the corners are tricky to handle and one is more likely to hit the station.

As for ships. We can also try different classes but for a start a sidewinder would be good enough because those are replaced easily.

Wow, just watched your video, this is really cool! Great idea, and I didn't know you could enter the structure like this. I bet it must be awesome with the Rift. I'll definitely try this when I get the beta!

One could launch a heat sinks since it appears as physical object in space or drop some cargo inside... it will block the space but the racer will get a fine for it. More of a minor disturbance in comparison to a mine but it might do for a start.

Since we want to race there, I was thinking how to improve the lap times and whether it is possible to use boost. The Viper has a 500m/s boost which is way too much to handle because of deceleration taking too long. Therefore I picked an Eagle with a boost of 350 m/s. It is actually rather simple. Put all pips into engine, keep the throttle in the blue zone and boost away.
Lap time Viper: 44sec
Lap time Eagle: 40sec
