Am I the only one who thought we would get new payed content in Q1 of 2019?

In that case nothing was delayed, because we got premium content in 2018. That's not what I've been talking about though.

The 2020 update has never been delayed because it never had a release date. Don't know what happened to the original 2018 stuff, maybe that's delayed or cancelled.

It's so obviously not going to happen.

I don't think Frontier are the worst company in the world when it comes to paid beta / Early Access scamming, far from it, but they're not in the ethical top half either. They are even mediocre in their ability to rip people off.

In another universe they would have been on the Golgafrincham Ark B.

You just said that the type of content doesn't matter as long as it's paid for. You literally said that size isn't a factor.
So what is it now?
Anyway, I am not interested in the argument since it's completely unrelated to the point I made.

In your logic ofc, everything would be ok even if they had pushed back the new era for 2048. It would be the same thing for you. No promices broken technically.

By the way, I am not saying that everything is OK. I am disappointed about the long wait as well. That doesn't mean we should make up random complaints. If you want to complain about the premium content being cancelled or delayed, fine, whatever it is. If you want to complain that it's a long time until 2020 I'll agree with that too.

Elite Dangerous commander edition is currently 39.99 on steam, so you are £45.00 down on the deal over 4 years but you did get some paints and a bobble head and a Cobra mkIV.
Mate, I have spilt more in beer over the last four years than you have lost out on Elite Dangerous, find a safe space and have a quiet cry you will feel much better for it, trust me.

So you got your moneys worth from Horizons alone then, anything extra is a bonus (which you will get in 2020). What's your beef?

I paid £120 in September 2015 instead of ~£35 for the Horizons beta package. It was a straight choice at the time.

To clarify:
Marco-Val said that the new major expansion has been delayed by two years.
I point out that we never had a release date, so technically it can't be delayed.
Marco-Val clarifies that he is the talking about the 2018 premium content rather than the 2020 release.
I point out that they aren't the same thing.
You say it doesn't matter what they are as long as it's paid content.

No, mine was £85 in mid-2014. For something that has since been on sale for a combined tenner.

And if we're talking about subjective value, Horizons was and is a crushing bore, so a fiver would be pushing it.

The CIV & Black Friday paint pack were for ordering Horizons before a cut-off date, they are only related to the LEP purchase because the LEP includes horizons and the purchase date met the criteria.

I think you are very welcome to spend your own money however you like, I bought the LEP with the intention of saving money long term. It's clear this is no longer going to happen.

They are the same thing (Maro-Val's point), the confusion was introduced by your altered criteria that I brought up (the no true scotsman trope).

We pretty much agree, the only difference is that i see the late 2020 as a big delay of whatever was expected. I was waiting paid content from 2018, but we forgot all about that, because of beyond and now the expected paid stuff are renamed as ,"new era" to ease out the additional delay. It all comes out as delay, however they choose to name it. Thats how i see it.
